If I drink a bottle of the V8 drink would that be enough fruit and/or veggies for one day? I eat alot of fruit and veggies already but I was just wondering. I had heard that it was but didn't know if it was really true or not.

To clarify how big a bottle, I mean the regular 8 oz.

In a word: "NO".
You're drinking salt (sodium) and preservatives, not real veggies.

Eat "fresh", raw, or slightly cooked (NOT overcooked) veggies and fruits.

But, for optimum results and benefits, buy a JUICER and juice them.
With juicing, you'll get all the benefits of the vitamins and nutrients as well as all the good fiber that your body needs to keep you fit and "regular".

By drinking the juice, you are concentrating the calories without gaining the benefits of the fiber in the veggies and fruit. There's also no telling exactly how "fresh" that stuff is when it's juiced, so I wouldn't say it's equivalent at all. You could use it as one serving a day, but not for all.

Always try to eat your foods as close to the source as possible, fresh from the tree, still in the peel, etc. They have the most nutritive value that way.

How big a bottle? One 8oz serving of the original product is equivalent to 1 serving of vegetables, so you'd need at least 3-5 cups to meet your veg/fruit needs. I don't know about any of the new V-8 blends like the mango etc, but they would probably count as 1 serving too. The problem with using a drink in place of real fruits and vegetables is that you miss out on the fiber part of it- although there may be a tiny bit in juices, there isn't nearly as much as in the real veg/fruit, and this is one of the nutrients that contributes to their beneficial effect on your health.

It's certainly better than nothing for people who have trouble getting their daily allotment, but if you already eat a lot of fruits and veggies, I woudn't go too crazy on the V-8.....it's LOADED with sodium (unless you buy the low sodium kind)

I doubt it, but I can't say for sure. Why not subscribe to Juice Plus? Ever heard of it? It's $40.00 per month (comes in capsules) and you take 2 per day. Gives you all the fruits & veggies, And multi-vitamins, minerals and fiber you need each & every day.

v8 juice....yum... it's a good addition to compliment your diet, but by no means should be construed as a replacement for your fruit and veggie needs. you need the soluble fiber that comes from eating raw fruits and veggies as well, for good digestion, along with whole grains. great to hear that you are concerned with your food intake, as so many people just eat anything without concern for their nutritional needs. good health to you!!

Yes, but it is VERY high in sodium. Hey, at least you are getting your veggies. Most people have a hard time fitting the nine servings in each day, and I would venture a guess that most of us don't get the full nine per day.

WHile it is a good source to complment your diet needs, you should try for a veriety of freuits and veggies.

Healthwise, any one food should only be part of the total serving needs, otherwise you could couse other promblems with your dietary tract and system/body
