I don't think it would be boring if we were all the same in our spriritual beliefs, but, yes, it would be boring if all humans were the same. What would not be boring is if we could all love and respect each other regardless of our religious beliefs. Now that would be something else....

It's a classic case of the monority having the loudest voice .This is very much the case on Yahoo Answers . Look out for the open Bigot forums . The Asker poses a question detramental to race religion , sexuality ,and so on .
It's like going fishing .
People who strike at the bait are generally offended by what has been proposed , and often respond with ignorant answers to support the initial question .
These people do not represent the general population . They are simply a fudamentalist lot , that all belong in the one stiring pot .

Im a born again christian myself but i agree with your point. i dont see why people feel the need to get so offensive towards others when it comes to religion. I dont believe in the other religions cos i believe theres only one God but i wouldnt go out to offend others because of their beliefs. God gave us free will and made us individuals. I can see why people get angry when things like suicide bombings happen, but people cant just make assumptions that everyone in that religion is the same because of that. And yes, the world would be boring if we were all the same.

No actually you are mistaken in your thinking.
Your right, the pope does not speak for every Catholic, because what he is trying to do to sway the muslim is ungodly.
I don't respect Jesus, I LOVE Jesus, and I desire to act just like him, and I am just beginning to learn what that means.
muslims respect a moon god. that much is true, but their God cannot save them. Only Jesus can do that.
athiest do have every right to disbelieve, but they have gone beyond that and are trying to crush out any freedom that those who do believe, to express that freedom, (take a look at all the falling crosses around the country)
agnostics are going to fall off the fence one day, and fall onto the side they don't want to be on either.
My God IS better than anyone elses because he has the power to save me from Hell, none of the other gods can do that.
each book does say something different, the difference is in, again, it's ability to save one from the flames of hell.
Not really arguing, just trying to show as many as I can the way out of eternal suffering as I can.
No I don't think things would be boring if we were all the same, I think that would be called peace.

the pope may not speak for every catholic, but I`m not a Catholic and I`m glad he said what he said. I am also sad that he felt he had to say he was sorry this morning. all Muslims may not be terrorists however the cor-an teaches that Jews and believers in Jesus Christ should be converted or killed. the Jews and Christians tried this and found out It didn't work. killing your would be converts only serves to distance yourself from them.the Muslim community is not coming out and condemning these acts of terrorism with very much disdain. kind of makes me wonder.....

true each individual has free will to believe and act according to their personal Belief System as long as it does not interfere with the rights of others. it would be boring if we were all alike as there would be little opportunity to gain more wisdom and knowledge if we were the same. however those who have similar Belief Systems band together and human nature seems to indicate there will always be certain people who will want power over others and through Religion is one way to obtain same.

The biggest difference in religions is not the belief, but the interpretation of the belief.
Like the Catholic crusades, Jihad is death to unbelievers.
The difference is that now one must decide who has the right to kill another, or judge another.
I stand on the promise of love and peace winning over all, regardless of who's belief it comes from.

Of course it would be boring.....but, someone has to be right, don't they? That's why there's always some kind of argument, "Who's religion is better?" "Who's got the bigger truck?" "Who's super hero could kick butt?". It's not a question of celebrating differences when everyone picks out the flaws in things they don't believe in. I wish we lived in a world where it didn't matter what religion that someone followed. What really matters is what's in the heart and how someone lives their life, right?

"People say they love truth, but in reality they want to believe that which they love is true"- Robert J Ringer, self help guru. We should respect all sincerely held beliefs, but obviously all these conflicting beliefs can't be equally good or right. The attitude 'my religion {or belief} is right for me', is a very narrow minded and selfish one. It may be right for you, but is it right?! Is there such a thing as one truth?

I agree with you and I think that anyone who "kills in the name of God" just wants to kill. Look at the crusades and all through history and the various religions.
I do not believe that GOD, no matter which religion, really would tell others to kill in his name. If you believe ANY religion and in a GOD you would know that GOD wants peace and love and cooperation between people, not violence. So, let everyone believe in what comforts them and stop this insanity!
