it's not a pagan ritual- that would be halloween??
ramadan is an important holiday and holy month where praying on one night is better than 1000 nights. We fast from sunrise to sunset and have selfcontrol over our actions, words and thoughts. We think about the unfortunate people who go throught the whole day not knowing when they will have thier next meal , while we can look forward at the end of the day to dinner.
it's not a strange concept, infact other religions do it and it's a good cleansing for your digestive system and your spiritual soul.

If you do a search on Yahoo Answers, you'll see quite a few recent questions about Ramadan. They're out there, you just gotta look.

i don't know what type of questions you want ppl to ask abt ramadan. but i guess the only reason ppl don't ask questions abt thsi month is coz ppl from other religions fast as well but at different times of the yr.
Ramadan is teh ninth month of Islamic calendar and msulism fast during this month. we are to pray and recite Quran as much as they can. we are also to refrain from bad habbits and violance is strictly forbidden during fasting days. the only reason i brought up this point is beacuse, those extremists who proclaim themselves to be muslims and provoke attacsk during this month, certainly are doing nothing close to Islamic teachings....

I don't know, but I am always interested in other religions and cultures, I have had muslim friends and have met them though work - I always thinks it looks good if you do ask questions about their religion 1) It shows you're interested in them as a person and 2) You learn about how to respect other people's beleifs or appreciate them. eg. when you invite them to dinner don't serve them pork or wine since alcohol and pork and prohibited. But of course you always ask them first because like all religions - their are some who take it more seriously than others.

because as you can see some people have their minds set on what they think Ramadan is (hence World Domination) and feel that they are too good to ask or known about other religious practices. and on the other hand some people may be embarrassed to ask.

I guess it's the same reason nobody asks questions about Lent. It's not really a holiday, it's a fasting period BEFORE a holiday.
People aren't into self-denial, and fasting just isn't interesting.

Because the actions of radical Islamist have disgusted westerners, and feel that Islam's main goal is world domination, and the destruction all who would stand in the way of this goal.
