Ewww, I don't know. But this ? brought back a childhood memory. This little boy in my neighborhood, nicknamed "BUG," used to like me. He would come by my house all of the time. And he would always smile at me. And it drove me nuts. In the neighborhood, his family was thought to be a little "off" so what girl wants the weird boy liking her?
Bug had a dog, one of those hot dogs, that also liked my pekingnese. And that dog would always come down to our house and try to screw "Tippy." And of course Bug would always show up to get his dog and smile at me.
Then the lady across the street from us had this nasty, ugly hairy dog that would hump everyone's leg. It was so nasty! I quit going over to her house. But the girl was really nice, but her mom and her lived in a house that was black and on the inside of the house, it was always black and dark. They were just weird and the girl hardly ever came out to play. I don't think the mom wanted her daughter to talk about what went on in the inside of their house.
Whew, I had to get that out...that was therapy! LOL

Unfortunately no he will not. First off, it will take a few weeks for the testosterone to work its way out of his system. Secondly, humping or "mounting" is his way of expressing dominance. By having him neutered, this will definitely curb his urge to hump. But don't look for it to go away completely. FYI, I have a female spayed dog who loves to mount my younger female dog and her favorite stuffed animals. I think its just part and parcel of being a dog.

contrary to popular opinion, fixing an animal will not stop this. the reason they do it is not sexual, although we humans seem to think it is. there is a fix for it, but it's not fun or easy. he is doing it out of domination. and at four years old, you have even more work ahead of you. it's simple dog psychology, and this is what you need to do. first, if he's even a potential biter, muzzle him, then when he goes to humping something, act IMMEDIATELY and take him down to the floor, on his back, belly up with you on top of him until he stops fighting you, relaxes and looks away. during this whole thing don't say a word to him, because that's encouragement, like you're just playing. which you're not. it sounds cruel, but if you watch dogs in normal behavior, one will roll over onto it's back in submission. you need to get your dog to submit to you. this is not cruel. it's just that your dog has rule of your house, and you should be the alpha dog, not him. if you would like more info on this kind of thing, let me know. glad to help

It'll help, but at age 4, I'm not sure if it'll help enough. Should probably be done in the first year or two to be truely effective. There will always be some humping, but that'll simply be a dominance thing.

Humping is a domonance thing and a testosterone thing. A combo of both. Having him neutered is a crap shoot. You never know if it will help until you have it done. Although, neutering is the best thing you can do for your dog reguardless of the humping. They live longer healtheir lives for it. Good luck to you.

Hes a dog dude. He'll only live for 8 or 10 years. Just buy him a party hat and change his name to humpy. Have friends over, make videos, put them on YouTube. Let the dog be.

Our male dog was neutered, and he still humps a leg now and then. No furniture, though -- although he never did that before, either.

Probably not
It is my experience that at that age habits like humping, lifting his leg, etc,etc are pretty well set for life.

But its really to show who's boss.

No that will not stop it. He is 4 and it has become a habit. Spray him with watter from a bottle when he does it. He will quit after a week or so.
