ive ran into a few, and it seems that way to me. maybe they were a**kicking biker dudes in their former life, and now theyre going to beat the love of christ into you.
in prison, i noticed that the inmates that found religion in prison were the first to beat you up for not sharing their beliefs.
im not making generalizations, i know not all born agains are like that, but ive noticed that alot of them are.
again, queen a, please stay out of my questions.

Converts to anything are usually the most militant.

Did you know that Savonarola, who led the Spanish Inquisition, was Jewish? He should have been burned at his own stake!

I'm a pacifist as was my father and my grandfather before him and his grandfather for about the past 500 years. We are the Pennsylvania Dutch and we are also born again Christians. Prison inmates are hardly the sort of crowd to generalize from for the entire population.

this is a problem, because most of us who call ourselves Christians are not that way. but we get lumped in there with all the other vilolent sorts because they are the ones who are the most memorable, and the "CLAIM" that they are Chirstians.

You should remember that as Christians, we are to love our brotheren, to go out and preach the gospel of love to every creature, and if it is not accepted to kick the dust off our shoes from that town, and that is it. There is no where in the bible where we are told to violenty evangelize the world, but quite the opposite, to do it in love. If someone is violent in their beliefs you would be validated in calling into question their own salvation, and asking them to show you where in the bible it says that violence is an accepted evagelical tool.

In fact, anyone who angers easily is acting improperly for God's Holy people. We are told that we are not to sin when we get angry. sometimes that's pretty hard. cause people out there are sometimes pretty acidic in their comments toward Christian, but responding in love when doing so catches them off guard, and the holy spirit convicts them. ok I feel like I am babling here so I am going to stop. the point I was trying to make is that if they are violent you should call into question whether they are indeed Christian. as Chirstians REFLECT Christ, and Christ was not violent.

The prisoners are ones that were into sinning heavily and have seen what ai difference Christ can make. Because they see it is real, they are quick to ensure thaty ou can fill the hole in your life with Christ.

i'm a born again christian, the christian journey go through different stages almost similar to a marriage. usually in the early stages when they just found JC, its the romantic stage, so it's that passionate love that fuel them to preach to people, almost militant u can say. they talk without regard coz they r excited & young. mature christian like a mature marriage are selfless & repectful to one another. they might not agree with your views but they have patience & restraint from going overboard. they learn to love like JC do with all people coz in God's eyes, all human r precious.

Since you admit to being in prison, makes me understand your mood.Christianity is the peaceful religion. Any-one that strays from the teachings of Jesus is bound to be corrupt in their thinking.
If you really want to know the answer to your question, read the Bible. If you're asking just to have something to do....Oh, well.

I think some people do that at first.
All of our traits do not change instantly when one becomes a Christian, it usually take time to learn and be taught to be like Christ.

I agree with you - whatever the involved belief is.

I have also noticed that "born again believers" AND fresh converted persons to another belief look like fanatical persons.

I am glad I don't live in the USA: look at the present american leader... "Born again"...

Unfortunately some carry their violent pasts over with them, and fail to realize that the important thing in Christianity is to love others. I'm glad you realize that we aren't all like that.

I haven't noticed that. What I've noticed is that they are so gentle compared to their biker/gangsta appearance. It's so suprising and cool. I'm sorry you ran into some that hung onto their violent past.
