and if pride is a sin, what about those arrogant enough to announce they are going to heaven.
it seems the surer you are, the more arrogant/prideful you become and the less likely you are to actually make it to heaven.
in other words, anyone who says they are going to heaven (and doesn't ask forgiveness for thinking themselves worthy) is actually going straight to hell!

I agree 100%........ I think people who 'know' they are going to heaven are completely arrogant. That particular brand of religion that says someone else paid for my sins is too convenient to be God's true religion. It's an easy way out of guilt, remorse, and repentence. I don't think anyone but me should answer for what I have done, and I believe babies are born completely innocent, not 'sinful savages'. Why on earth would God blame my child for something I did before he was even born?

I can say without a doubt I am going to heaven not out of pride but out of faith in Christ Jesus and by following HIS instructions on how to go to heaven.

We are to work out our salvation with fear and trembling, also Peter said "I am anxious over my salvation" meaning he never wanted to be comfortable about his situation and relationship with the Lord. I know the Lord is in my heart, but I refrain from blabbing about going to heaven, these are people who believe that they have "arrived" as I call it. They think they have reached a point in their lives that they are beyond temptation and falling, what fools.

You can have pride and still go to heaven... having pride won't send you to hell.
