With the best video cable (Belden 8281B) you can run 50ft or more. With ordinary RG-59U 20ft is probably the limit. If you buy specialty cables in long lengths, they are probably ok but exhorbitantly expensive. If you need long runs, find the Belden cable and put on your own terminations. Be sure to use 75-ohm BNC (Amphenol 31-71032 or equiv.) with a BNC to RCA adapter. Even with the cost of the connectors, adapters and the crimping tool, the cost will be a lot less than "premium" cables already made up.

i'm particular it may are attainable, yet some component 480p and above you want component cables for. And for 1080p you're meant to have HDMI. S- video although splits the colors an comparable as component so i'm particular there does not be a compatiblity subject.

it is going to depend on different factors
1. the quality of the cable being used (some are constructed with much better conductors and sheilding)
2. whether or not there are other wires or cables running along side it which many produce interference
3. but the most important factor to remember is going to be cost.... the longest factory made cable available that is a decent quality is currently about 16 feet any longer than that and you have 2 options... you can use a coupler and join more than one cable together or you can have your cables custom made...joining more than one will produce some degree of degredation but custom made cables will be very expensive
