Christians have been obsessed with the end of the world from the first until now. At the link below you can see many of the false predictions of the end, most of them coming from Christians. Jesus taught this to his disciples:

Matthew 6:34 "So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

Yet like most of Jesus' teachings it seems this is ignored by all of Christendom as Christians line up to buy books and novels about the end of the world, and obsess over the future in direct violation of Jesus' own words, as they have time and again for 2000 years only to find out they've been deceived by charlatans who wanted their money. I guess Christians think Jesus was speaking just to hear himself talk?

Please check out the information on the link before replying. Note there are six sections of false prophecies, some quite interesting and made by false prophets that are still with us:

So are you buying LaHaye's stuff or ignoring it?

It's so easy to prey on the emotions and fears of the masses.

It's all just speculation, and I side with Jesus. I have read the Left Behind series, and I agree that is fiction, but it's based on Tim LaHaye's interpretation of how the end will come. That's all anyone can do, and just be prepared so that we don't need to worry about it.

Didn't click the link, because I am uninterested in that subject.

But oh wait!!!!! You said "Yet like most of Jesus` teachings it seems this is ignored by ALL of Christendom as Christians line up to buy...."

Hmmm, seems you are a liar. You said ALL, yet I'm a Christian and haven't read a single endtimes book that wasn't a cute little fiction to pass the time. So you LIED. Therefore whatever else you have to say on the subject should be ignored, according to your philosophy.

The Bible clearly states only God knows the exact hour when He will come. Anything else is speculation. LaHaye's books are fiction and he does not try to portray them as anything else as far as I know. None of us know yet exactly how things will work out as the times are not here --yet, but getting close.

What exactly is your question? Jesus said that no man would know the hour or the day of His return. He said that wea re to occupy until He comes and we are to be ready.

There are some who would be curious about the timing of these things. There are people who come up with figures and so show themselves as false.

rmarkgarrett,
You know what? In the years that I have been a Christian, I found out that there are certain undeniable truths in life. One of those truths is that Jesus is Lord. Another truth that I have found is that unbelievers REALLY suck at interpretation of scripture. They can't do it. They don't know where to put weight on what's said, and the context of verses makes them sound like blithering idiots. Like what you did with Matthew 6:34.

By saying what you said, you told me that the link you posted afterwards wasn't worth dick. More confusion by confused unbelievers. It's just like clockwork!

christian if they follow JC words know they shd be focusing on keeping a close relationship with Him all time & hence no caught out when he suddenly show up unannounced which He said He will do.
if we know He is coming on a certain day & time, we in our human nature won't do anything, be careless, care free & sinning till the last moment & ask for forgiveness.
