you can use the dried but i have found that you need more of it the the fresh did you look in your supermarket for fresh dill.....

Yes. Most people do. If you want fresh dill weed, grow it. It's not hard, even if you don't have a green thumb. Use a small pot, with any good potting soil. You can find dill seeds packets at most stores that carry seeds. Just set in a window. Liven up your kitchen window!
