The age of onset of bipolar disorder varies greatly. The age range for both BPI and BPII is from childhood to 50 years, with a mean age of approximately 21 years. Most cases commence when individuals are aged 15-19 years. The second most frequent age range of onset is 20-24 years. Some patients diagnosed with recurrent major depression may indeed have bipolar disorder and go on to develop their first manic episode when older than 50 years. They may have a family history of bipolar disorder. However, for most patients, the onset of mania in people older than 50 years should lead to an investigation for medical or neurological disorders such as cerebrovascular disease

Suicidal - No never, it is the upbringing. Change the attitude. Shower lot of love affection closeness, both parents together.
Lack of love affection - talks over suicides . quarellels, shouting between elders in the house paves the Child go in for depression at an early stage where child may not even understand the possible terminology.
Maniac : well this may be due to getting the child what ever child needs when asks. when child does not get, frightening u to go in for suicide. pampered. Give love affection, good talk and say u cannot get it at all never say later.

Yes- it's definately possible. Some manic depressive signs can be detected as young as five. I would definately keep an eye out, how he behaves, how he talks, what he draws, the way he/she interacts with peers. Medication can very easily be a miracle for you and your child.

Any time someone has to deal with a long term situation,
where they are under lots of stress, they can get a
chemical imbalance.
It could be a parent. A situation in the neighborhood, or school.
All the Gloom and Doom about the end of the world, and
everybody having to go to hell because they aren't perfect,
doesn't help either.
