It's always something "new" and alarming about food..first something is good for us, then they scare us and tell us not to eat it....Do you take all this stuff seriously? Should we eat what we want to anyway? What is this Ecoli in Spinach scare, all about?

I do take this scare seriously, but I asked another question about , "SPINACH, " and the answers I got, seemed to take it a bit more lightly.
I don't care to look like Popeye anyway, so I won't eat any for awhile!
I'll take the media seriously....unless they tell us that CHOCOLATE will kill us! :~0

The spinach scare is real. In processing the spinach, they used water that has been tainted w/Ecoli. With 92 people sick and 1 dead, I would take this seriously. Ecoli is a bacteria that is harbored in the intestine. The symptoms are Diarrhea and blood.

Sure, you can go ahead and eat what you want, but I sure don't want to have E-coli and die. That's worth giving up American fresh spinach for a while, isn't it. I can make salads with other greens, and it's easier to use frozen spinach for cooking, anyway. Don't you think it's beyond just trying to scare us - that they are seriously warning us? For example, when is the last time you had the guts to eat a rare hamburger? --- oh, I thought so....

It's not a scare, it's a health warning, and this is the proper service of the media. E. Coli is a dangerous bacteria. You have to take it seriously. I think you're confusing debates as to the health benefits and risks, usually over many years of a persons life, of different foods, et al, with a legitimate health risk warning.

I suggest you take a break from paying attention to conspiracy theorists who dismiss everything said as propaganda, a lot of them aren't half as rational and enlightened as they think. If you're one of them, well, no offense.

Scared people watch the news so scaring people is what they do. Half the crap they report is exagerated.

Ratings = Money.
