I was wandering past the beauty parlor today and saw a brace of sailors inside. Can you believe this was prophesised by the prophet Robert in his 1965 prophecy, Desolation Row?

They're selling postcards of the hanging
They're painting the passports brown
The beauty parlor is filled with sailors
The circus is in town
Bob Dylan, Desolation Row

Now how could anyone in 1965 have possibly known that in the future, sailors would be going to beauty parlors? The idea would have seemed absurd to anyone back then.

A bunch of vague mumbo jumbo is not a prophecy. A prophecy is an exact statement of *future* events *before* they happen; that is _prediction_.

All you ever hear from psychotics - oops, psychics - is *postdiction*, alleged "interpretations" of their gibberish after the fact. The crap you get from idiots like Sylvia Browne and Nostradamus are NOT predictions.

The following *is* a prediction because it says exactly what and when:

At 12:00PM EST on Monday, September 18, George Bush will take Saddam Hussein's gun and blow his own head off.

Of course, it's unlikely to happen, but we can hope.

Gee...you would think if Prophet BoB could come up with this prophesy, then he would know by 2006 that BEAUTY PARLORS DO NOT EXIST ANY LONGER!! That term DIED back in the 1970's with the onslaught of Hair Salons...and now Hair Salon is dying out and by 2008, we will only have Hair Designers!

Cute, very cute, but way way off!

not necessarily everyone. there have been and always will be changes in what is accepted behavior in any Culture and Society. a Culture and Society must change over a period of time or they will stagnate and die. look at the changes which have taken place in our Culture and Society since the 1960's as an example.

How the devil did he know - it can only be a sure sign that the Rapture is due by the end of the month.
