Don't waste energy holding someone down who is doing such a fine job of it themself. It seems these days that all you have to do is cry about being disadvantaged (as an ethnic group or sexual deviant) and then there will be special interest groups who want to buy your votes for them by determining that you are now "entitled" to some new program, benefit, consideration, etc.
Why work or try to be productive when all you have to do is collect a check? You might have wondered why the entitlement mentality was like an infection being spread by our government agencies. Sheep are a lot easier to herd and control if they'll sit around and watch the boob tube all day and live on $500 a month.
Mental weakness and underacheivement are, in effect, subsidized and encouraged. Strange world...

I am not gonna make a general statement and say that "white ppl" hold black people down because that would be very unfair and untrue. I believe that you can become anything you want as long as you are hungry for it and determined but I will say that society has what is "right and acceptable", therefore some races have to struggle more than others. I am a professional, working with a large company making almost a $100,000 per year and nobody is gonna tell me that their isn't a "glass ceiling" in that place. I have seen people who are more than qualified for prestigious positions and because of their race, there were not given a chance. I know that for a fact!!!! and I am sure you'll admit that these things exist.

Doesn't this seem racist??? I know there are many blacks who try their best to become something and it's not that easy. I'm not making an excuse because I'm black, I'm doing something with my life. But you can't blame a whole race for being pessimistic when you've only seen a few who are like that. At least someone is every race is like that. If ones life is screwed up, they only have themselves to blame. We're not our own enemy, people who put us down and make us seem worthless are the enemy.

If you tell a child that green is brown and keep reinforcing that, that's is what he'll grow up to believe. This is the same thing that people like Jesse Jackson and Louis Faracon have, and are, doing. If you keep telling people they're oppressed the ignorant ones are going to believe it. Look at all the successful minorities in history - and we'll forget about sports - Colin Powell, Condoleeza Rice, Bill Cosby, Federico Pena, and a whole bunch of entertainers. And hey, wait a minute...If black people are oppressed, why is the Reverend Jackson wearing those expensive suits?

Very, very wrong, you are making a generalzation based on race. example: how is it a C student at best can become president if he is white but a black student has to have honor roll credits to be a manager of a fast food restraunt. Ignorance like this foster bad feelings on both sides. try to judge an individual on merits not the color of their skin or their economical conditions. And remember When you enslave opress a people for 600 years it might take them a while to get their feet back under them.

Some white people do that, but the majority are good people. You said it all when you said that some black use this a a crutch to keep from bettering themselves, because that would require effort on their part.

Walk a mile in their shoes and experience the blatant racism and descrimination they do.......There are some people that blame others for their own lack of success regardless of their ethnicity.
