no, it's fine....just keep it in the refrigerator from now on. If it starts to get little white dots on it, then throw it out...but it should be ok after only 5 1/2 hours at room temperature.

Use it. My grandfather had one of those dishes for blocks of cheese (the kind with the clear glass lid and wooden bottom. He never put his cheese in the fridge. It sat on the counter until he ate it all. Lived to be 95 eating cheese like this everyday. They had cheese before refrigeration and didn't have all the methods of preserving it way back when either.

Use it. Think about it, people had cheddar cheese for centuries before refrigeration. I am sure they did not have to use it immediately after it was made. They tried to store it in a cool place, someplace as cool as the room temperature in our houses today.

Cheese can actually be stored in temperatures from 45 to 80 degrees so its still good

try it on him first if he makes it it is ok...no...they is nothing wrong with it ...it is even recommended to serve cheese at room tempature...the flavor comes out....
