You buy hamburger (ground NOT minced beef) form it into patties and pan fry until done. Put between two bread slices or a special hamburger bun, or a roll and typically garnish with tomatoe slice, lettuce leave, onion slice, pickle slices, ketchup and or mustard. salt and pepper to taste.
Go to any McDonalds to taste and view.
Maybe we have an interpretation problem....hamburger is beef run thru a meat grinder or sausage maker...it is usually twice ground for finer texture....I suspect you are not in the US as hamburger is a staple at the grocery market and as a food dish. Its also the basis for another US favorite, meatloaf....a baked version with eggs and cereal or crackers to bind and extend the portion. Also used in making Chili and base for favorite spaghetti sauce

I just posted this in answer to similar question, but here it is again:
My secret is to add NOTHING to the meat, absolutely NOTHING.
Just when you complete making the patty as close to perfect as you want it (always larger than the bun to allow for "shrinkage") you lightly salt and pepper both sides.
I find that everything you can add to the ground beef takes away something in the end. Onions are the worst because they will cause the patty to break up while cooking, egg, ketsup and bread crumbs change the consistency of your patty (for the worst) and change not only the flavor but cause the patty to "burn" or "boil" instead of "sear" properly!
Add all the flavoring you want as toppings, dressings or sauces AFTER the fact. When you make the patty itself, simply use nothing but pure 100% ground beef - try it, believe me, you will NEVER go back to the fuss and mess of mixing a ton of crap into your burgers!
(Burgers will hold their shape better if you leave them in the freezer awhile before cooking them....)

Burgers with Lime and Red-Onion Relish
Serves 4; Prep time: 15 minutes; Total time: 1 hour 30 minutes
For The Relish:
1 medium red onion
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
Coarse salt and ground pepper
For The Burgers:
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
8 slices toast
1. Make relish: In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 medium red onion, halved and thinly sliced (1/8 inch), and 1/4 cup fresh lime juice. Season with coarse salt and ground pepper. Cover tightly; set aside to marinate, about 1 hour or up to overnight.
2. Make burgers: In a mixing bowl, gently combine 1 1/2 pounds ground beef (preferably chuck) and 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Divide into 4 equal-size patties.
3. Heat a large nonstick skillet with a tight-fitting lid over medium-high, until water droplets sizzle. Add patties; cover. Cook until golden brown, turning once, 6 to 8 minutes total. Place each patty on a slice of toast, and garnish with onion relish.
Note: To give your burgers a Southwestern flavor, garnish with pickled jalapeño peppers, widely available in supermarkets.

1 lb mince makes 4 x 1/4lb burgers. Put it in a bowl and add a pinch of slt, a splash of pepper, a teaspoon worcester sauce, a dab of mustard, a dab of garlic puree and a couple of tablespoons of minced onion.
With clean hands, mash up the mixture and squish it in your fists to get it all ground together.
Divide into 4 or 8 and roll into balls. Flatten the balls between your hands an cook under a medium hot grill for about 10 mins, turning once.
They don't take long to make or cook and with mince at about 70p/lb they're not expensive.

ground beef, simply shape into a round burger sprinkle with Lawrys season salt and grill - 5-6 minutes each side. Longer time if you make FAT burgers. check with a fork to see if pink inside or grey(well done) - add cheese if you want while on the grill after done for about 1 minute - serve. don't over cook, they won't be juicy.

Lean minced Steak
2 eggs
breadcrumbs
1 finely chopped chilli
1 finely chopped onion
salt & pepper
mix it all together with your hands.
Now make thin, tightly packed patties out of the mixture and lightly fry them.
They shrink in diameter when you cook them, and when they do that, they get thicker. So if you don't make them thin, they will just end up shaped like a meatball instead of a burger.
Another way of avoiding this is by freezing them before you put them in the frying pan or on the barbie.

Mainly you take some minced (ground) beef and mix it together with some herbs and spices then squash it together into balls and flatten them, then fry or grill.
You can add chopped onions if you like too.
