and dont say that they dont. they either tell you you will go to hell for believing differently, or say they will pray for you, or pretend to pity you, or incessently preach to you. if any cristians answer this with a preachy answer they will be proving my point.

We all believe some things are truth and some things are false. Our experience proves it, and our lives depend on it.

For example, have you ever realized how many times you act in a certain way because you believe something is true? You'd never drink from a bottle that was marked "poison"; you know it might kill you. Poison is always dangerous, and you avoid it because you know this is true. In other words, you act in a certain way because you believe in truth—the truth that poison kills.

What does this have to do with God? Simply this: God is the source of all truth—and He has revealed the truth about Himself to us. Christians believe God did this in a way that staggers our imagination: He became a human being. Do you want to know what God is like? Look at Jesus Christ, for He was God in human flesh! As the Bible says, "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory" (John 1:14).

This is why I invite you to look at Jesus Christ as He is revealed in the pages of the Gospels. When you do, you will realize how much God loves you and why Jesus alone could say, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6).

I agree totally with you. All the christian responses are very defensive which, to me, suggests a very guilty conscience on their part.
As for all this praying crap. What the hell has that achieved in the world?
To those who are questioning atheists in this section, its a free country (where I live anyway). We can express what we want when we want, where we want. I'm sure that you christians probably go into other sections condemning everyone for living there lives, when you're the worst sort.

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
(I Peter 5:8)
Satan's millions of deceptions run from the outright obvious and outrageous to the subtle and unsuspecting.

His biggest trick is to get people to believe he doesn't even exist or to believe in a lack of personal accountability for one's own actions. From his rhetoric you hear echoing through the gullible "God is an all loving God, He would never condemn anyone" to "God is a force, not a personal being, God is in everything and is everything." They will see exactly who and what He is at the Great White Throne Judgment. There can be no love without justice. Just as their is right and wrong, there is reward or condemnation. There is heaven and a hell. There is a God and a devil. Literal, and real beings, they are not metaphors.

They work as an army, Satan's army, behind the scenes to infiltrate every aspect of mankind and earth. They influence and control people either directly or indirectly to fulfill their plans.

Wow, just look at all the xian responses to this one! There's nothing like the love of God in action! I'm sure jesus would be very proud of his people telling others to shut up. Praise the Lord, and pass the ammunition!

My friend,
It sounds like you have met too many Catholics. They screw it up the reputation for the rest of the Christians. Most Christians don't think you're going to Hell if you aren't Christian. We (Christians) just know what we believe. If you want to believe the same way we do, GREAT! If not, that is perfectly fine to. We don't condemn non-Christians to Hell. Catholics, however, do!

And you're proving the Christian point. The Bible says that there is power in the name of Jesus. There is no other like it. If Jesus is just a fantasy like say, Santa Clause or the Tooth Faerie then why do so many people get upset at the mere mention of His name. The opposite of love is not hate it's indifference, and you seem to be very worked up over a bunch of people who believe in "nothing". Maybe it's because you know it's true but you're so immersed in your sin that you just want to be left alone to wallow in it and not be told about the truth.

You are right most Christians do force there religion on non believers. I am christian and I look at like this salvation is choice. You choose salvation or could not choose salvation it up to you. I do not know where you are going to go when you die. I am not going to condemn by saying you are going to hell you entitled to you own opinions.

not all Christians think this way. there are many different ways to reach ones destination. one can walk, run, ride a bike, a motorcycle, take a train, fly in an airplane, take a bus, ride in an automobile, etc. etc. etc. and still all arrive at the same destination. how one gets there is not as important as the destination in this case.
