Maybe if the true peaceful Allah worshipping Muslims would spend as much energy bashing the extreme, radical, hate-filled brothers of their religion there might be some changes. Or maybe they are afraid of their own brothers.

Generalizing is a bad thing. There are just as many bad Muslims as there are Christians.
Everyone needs to look at themselves before criticizing others. That includes the Pope and Christianity's past. It is pretty dirty, despite Jesus' teaching of love and tolerance.

however, imam's do not offend jesus nor moses! what the "pope" did was not intentional...it is s series of offenses that will keep going on for some time to come. it was soooo wrong of him to say what he said cosidoring that the number of war mortalities engaged by the prophet mohammad during his mission of 20 years is not more than 400 deaths!!! from both sides!!!! where the number of deaths during the crusade exceeded a million!

Why should the pope apologize? The remarks pope Benedict XVI quoted was from the byzantine emperor (now a place in Turkey).

Great question,,,lets all say we are sorry and start over!
NOT HAPPENING is it? Why is it so many cry peace yet take their guns to the peace talks. Only a few on this entire planet would actually give up their lives without heading for the battle fields. Beat their swords into plow shares.....When? Armageddon!!!

The same could be said about the KKK??
The apology is for the followers of the faith not the few that claim to be part of Islam and yet act against it.

The principle is that if somebody carries out terror against us or against our allies, it's terror, but if we carry out terror or our allies do, maybe much worse terror, against someone else, it's not terror, it's counterterror or it's a just war.
"The world is ruled by force. The only way we can put a permanent end to terrorism is to stop participating in it."

All religions are hate mongers.
Stop teaching others to judge and you`ll stop the insanity called religion.
