I never saw this done before. Set a budget and buy something for that much money? For someone you love?
Give him something he would love - better yet, something that has some real significance from the point of view of your marriage to each other. ANYONE could spend money on a present, (provided they have the money, and even sometimes when they don't,) but it takes love and thought to come up with a unique something that demonstrates your love for him and respects his preferences.
If I were you, after this one, I would make a contract with your husband about how to give each other gifts that are meaningful and precious, but that don't start straying into one-up-manship territory.
Happy anniversary!

If he's into activities. attempt to examine around Ebay or someplace for some activities memorabillia. something autographed by ability of his usual activities individual. Tickets to despite he's into ( footy, basketball etc. ) integrate the tickets with a very good inn/weekend away. i'm particular he'd love that. purchase some new underclothes and you could the two get excitement from a great night of lovin` after the sport. may be great i think of.

What you can afford and what he wants are the only budget I would hope my wife keeps to.
If he only thinks about the value of things and not the thought you put into getting it, why did you marry him in the first place ?
Anyway for £250 how about an "experience" day

If you had your wedding reception in a hotel, try to book the bridal suite again, and spend the night in there, thats what i did for my wife, but the romanticism behind this may be lost on a man, failing that, just give him the money.

Thats bloody too much men do not like expensive gifts they see it as a sign of financial recklessness. Be warned these are not the days to spend money in a wild way, one day you will regret except if Bill Gates is your long lost cousin. Remember its not what you give what counts its how you are to him. Money and gifts can not buy love.

What are you trying to prove? Why does it matter how much it costs. Its your anniversary for gods sake. If you don't need to worry about money, find the perfect present regardless of the price. It might not even cost you a penny.

Definitely the thought that counts. If you can afford expensive thoughts, even better!
How about a day at the races? A night at the theatre? A murder/mystery weekend?

If its for your husband then money should not come into it. its about love. will he stop loving you if you don't buy an expensive gift.
I'm happy with my woman and its not compulsory to buy each other expensive gifts and see who can spend the most amount of money.
we love each other and that's all that matters to us.
