My thoughts are that the reactions of the Muslim community ironically support the statements the pope made (the previous pope made negative comments about buddhism and no one worried about violence from irate buddhists). On the other hand, the pope is, again ironically, engaging in the same dynamics that fundamentalist Muslims engage in: demonizing others. He's just another high-level religious leader that promotes partisanship, really the same as any islamic leader except in matter of degree. He knew what he was doing and so he should ultimately apologize.

Well I don't know about the pope, but you should...maybe you and the pope can apologize together?
I'm not a religious person and I don't believe in any God, but that doesn't mean I'll insult other people's believes and convictions as long as they don't hurt other people.
Yes, some Muslim abuse their religion to make up excuses for their actions but don't generalize, they're not all like that.

Who do you think you are? The Great one? Even the pope does not comment much on this, why do you have to stir things up? I guess if you are the one who made the comment, you will not be a MORON to say all this. By the way its not MUSLUM, its MUSLIMS.... you MORON.....

hi, of course, he, the Pope should, why, because the under medicated of
Islam or muslimism are those followers of a sick fat dirty old man and the facts still portray muslims as brutal ignorant followers of a pedophile (Mohamed). Do you know of the brides of Mohamed, and how many were under 12 years old? Thank God he could not have any children, but the followers are; or maybe the Pope should NOT!

uneducated?luk at ur spelling?we're not embarresed(or shud i say 'imbarased'?).we're just sad tht even the pope just keeps making false statements without confirming thm....in a way its natural for us to feel hjatred and anger towards the rest of the world seeing wht they r doing to us......sure,whn the buddhists whr critisized they reacted peacefully......but have they been called terrorists, harrased tortured and abused bcause of the way they dress or pray??the pope is in such a high position and he should be a bit more careful of what he says and does in public.........surely he must realise what is hurting to people and whats not?????

Your question is of a judgmental nature.

These people you are refering to are no different than any of the rest of us.

We have all been put here by God to learn the true meaning of love. They are doing it their way; we are doing it ours.

Jesus asks us to love our neighbors. These people are our neighbors.

We need not think on this issue beyond this point.

Jesus did not ask us to judge the actions of our neighbors, in fact he cautioned us to avoid doing this at all cost.

Remember; judge not lest ye be judged.

He asks us only to love them.

When you deviate from this path Jesus pointed out to us you do so at great peril to your salvation. Judgments path leads only downward. The path Jesus pointed out for us leads only upward toward our home where our father awaits our return.

Forget this judgmental nonsense you have been taught. It puts distance between you and God.

This is not being a Christian; it is being a bigot.

Love and blessings
