They are the same fleas. They bite people.
You need to do something. They can infest your house and become difficult to get rid of. Flea collars are usually enough as a preventative measure. At this point you will probably need to give the animals a flea dip / bath, put flea collars on them, and spray around the house anywhere you think could be infested. (pretty much everywhere) Remember that fleas don't need to eat that often and can live in carpet or furniture until they're ready to bite you again. Raid Flea Spray works well. Only use the one specifically for fleas.
DON'T be afraid to spray liberally. Leave the house for a couple hours after spraying. DO be VERY afraid of a major flea infestation.
I let my brother and his wife move in once for a short time. They brought 2 cats with no flea collars that picked up fleas. Things got pretty bad. After trying several products that didn't work, I was successful in quickly clearing the fleas with the Raid and treating the cats. I was about ready to resort to flea bombing or calling in the pros. Never had this problem having pets with flea collars.
The product I used on the cats was sort of a flea bath in a pump bottle. Directions said to spray the animal until wet and let dry. See what they have at the pet store.

Both dog and cat fleas can bite humans. What you need to do is to treat both your dog and cat with a flea treatment from you vet such as Frontline. This should them be done every 6 - 8 weeks as a preventative to them actually getting fleas. You should also get flea spray and spray it all over you house on sofas, beds, carpets etc to get rid of any fleas that may be lurking in furniture. If you don't get rid of all the fleas in the house then they'll just re -infect your dog and cat. Flea collars are a really bad idea for cats in particular as they can get caught really easily on branches etc when cats are out and about and they can do a lot of damage to your cat. Treating with Frontline is enough.

Dog fleas will bite dogs and people, and cat fleas will tend to bite cats, dogs and people.
Both animals will need to be treated monthly, and all fabrics and flooring and upholstery washed at the same time until every last flea is gone - and they are persistent little pests.
You will notice their attacks much more if they don't have animals to hop on and off of - so keeping your pets outside may seem to make things worse for a while. They can live a long time between floorboards and in furniture, and can reappear after a few months in warm weather - you may need to do a second round of fabric/furniture cleaning to put an end to them.

both will bite humans. Use an effective flea treatment on both your pets. There is no shame in your pets getting fleas but there is shame in allowing them to stay infested. The flea eggs and larvae live in your house, under the carpet, in the furnature, bedding etc. Do not use flea collars which can cause terrible allergic reations and contain organo phosphates which are very very bad for your pets and for you. Go to your vet and ask about stronghold drops. One application per month with keep your pets free of fleas, ticks, lice, earmites, mange mites and round worms. It will also ensure that any new fleas hatching out of the eggs in the furniture will die as soon as they bite the pets and will break the cycle. Anything you get from a pet shop is expensive and ineffective.

Yes! Both dog fleas and cat fleas bite! None can live on humans though; they just jump on to bite. I think you need to de-flea them both to make sure you rid of the problem. Dont forget to get the spray for your house though too as they can live in your carpets. There are many available in the shops. I find the best are the capsules that u snap the tops off and apply behind the neck, they are very effective. Its always good to mark it on your calender too, so you can flea them on a regular basis to stop them getting them back again. I also use a flea collar on my cat just to make sure!!! lol

Get your house and lawn sprayed.
They lay eggs and hatch every 8 to 10 days.
So you have to spray, fog, or flea dust your carpeting every 8 to 10 days for one or two times. This will break the cycle of new fleas.
You can gain control, but they lay eggs quickly and the problem will be HORRIBLE.
There is a medication for your cat and dog. That keeps them from getting fleas.
So get busy.

Fleas are Fleas and they will bite anything that has blood,
get meds from the vet, ( not over the counter it doesn't work well), for your animals. use flea powder or spray on carpets and vacuum daily until fleas are gone. remove pet bedding and clean it. the life cycle of fleas are 7 to 21 days. if the animals are outdoors, they will need to be treated monthly and you need to treat your yard as well.
Fleas are very harmful to animals if not treated, they can actually die from the infestation, therefore think what could happen to you and your family.

Dog fleas and cat fleas are the same and yes they bite people. Go to the vet and get a good flea repellent for your animals and vacuum your carpets everyday and the problem should go away.
