Why not unite all?
Begin the day from a romantic breakfast. Buy baloons a day before and decorate her room in the night.
In bathroom put some flowers with note "i love you"
Do nice things whole day long like holding hands, keeping eye-contact.
In the evening invite her out for a dinner, or if she is at work whole day, prepare something at home.
While the dinner you can present her the main gift (you know better what she likes, but I would avoid things for household, unless she dreams of them).
Be creative in every your step. Inside box with gift put many self made wishes written on heartshaped pieces of paper.
If gift-part happens in cafe, restaurantr or living room, prepare bedroom before. Put some rose petals all over the bed, or prepare many candles around (light them only when you are inside apartment).
You already know her sex preferences for sure, so go on and make her feel loved.

Good luck at making her birthday fun =)

I like to remove him from the normal home routine . It is easier to remember a night in a luxury hotel or a quick trip to a weekend getaway.

I will spend the whole day with her, show her a good time. I'll take her to a quiet place, and maybe have dinner there
