Islam was invented by playing on the need to build "group identity" of the people: ALLAH is ALL + A+ H, i.e., ALL people serve (A) or (4), for H, H is the King of "England".
The name ALI is derived from ALL, by erasing individual identity to build group identity, i.e., to find your identity, that is who you are, you must first identify with the oneness that is ALL, then you find yourself, (I). Thats why all of Islamic peoples names are changed often (IBRAHIM, RAHMAN, etc. are in fact derived from BRAHMAN) so they are in fact representing one side of the truth to "serve" B or H.
The God ALLAH was formed from ALA, i.e., the truth is "L" and can be reached with service that is 4, or A. ALA is a phonetic representation of லா in Tamil. It starts with an enclosure of emptiness, is a "S" or snake rotated sideways, and"enforces" common identity by a "hidden threat", that is , you ask somebody some question he says wrong, so you say, NO, the correct answer is: .... Islam was inspired in Arabic, and All-A-H hs no meaning therein. "All" has no meaning in Arabic, Allah in Arabic means: "The Greatest". it has noting to do with all- some- few you "invented".
In Islam People does not serve God 'cause he needs no servants, this is a misleading translation, people are the children of God and they have to worship him by doing the prayers, charity, fasting.
Allah was never a threat to muslims, he is a loving creator. but he warned evil doers and terrorists by the dooms day, where they'll pay for all their evil deeds to humanity.
"Rahman" means "merciful" and Brahman in Arabic is of no meaning. Ibrahim also is a mere name that has no meaning, no one was derived from the other.

Hello Pagan Lotus! You already have such great answers, especially from brother Ibrahim, masha'allah. I can't think of much else to add except I have read the two books that brother Ibrahim mentions and they are VERY good! -Especially for westerners to read as they were written by ppl that understand the west (one a non-Muslim, the other a Muslim) as opposed to some books that were written by people who never set foot in the west and can be hard for a westerner to understand at first (no offense). So these two books are a good place to start. (Obviously the Quran too). I also want so say that Islam (peace through submission to God) is not out to conquer ppl. The only way Islam "conquers" anyone is through their hearts when they learn to let go of their ego and submit themselves to God and find inner (and eventually outer) peace. Peace starts from within. If everyone had inner peace, outer peace in the world would come.

You are explaining this - I don't know from where you create all that - in English Language and that's absolutely wrong, because Allah is in Arabic not English, the mean of it in English "God" so can you invent where is the word "GOD" come from?
And if you know Arabic Language you can find out that Ali with the letter "A" is " ع" in Arabic, which in English doesn't exists..
All religions came from thousands centuries, just we cant imagine each religion from where has been invented.

First, religion is not invented. Second, Allah is an Arabic word meaning God in English, so it could not mean any of the things you have mentioned. Third, you answered your own question in your first sentence.

Someone saw a falling star and he thought it was a sign from god and they worship this meteor still.Its in mecca! second, the name Ali, means "higher"... search google for "muslim names" and you will find out, more over my name is sill the same, never changed, also my friends, haven't seen people changing their names except europeans and asians who choose an islamic name after converting to islam.
