to a portable tv which as already a video recorder built in?

just a update I would like to khow what cables and inputs I required. Could you list the various stages.

it should be possible if the tv has a scart (euroconnector) on the back-when you want to watch the dvd press "av" 1 or 2 on your remote. most recorders also accomodate for standard ariel output you treat these in the same way as a normal video recorder.

Hook them up in series, with the output from the video going to the dvd first and then the TV

depending on the model of your tv set it's perfectly possible. You have to look for the AV inputs, and the Sat output.
