reincarnation is nothing but the rebirth of soul based on the karma.

reincarnation means to "live again" basically. it is a popular belief that is held by many religions, (like mine, Wicca) that holds that when you die you keep coming back in a different incarnation, be it human/animal/alien. You can do this until you've learned all life lessons or you can do it as many times as you want.... I'm honestly not sure which of those I personally believe.

I know I do believe that it makes no sense for a soul to be used once only, and even as a small child it made no sense to me. So in my mind its a "recycling" of a soul.

It is a false belief where some believe that when you die your spirit is reborn into something else like a cow, a dog or another person until you reach a God like state. It is a false idea. A human being can never be God the creator. We are a creation and we simply do not have the capacity to be a God. Thats silly.

Some of the answers given refer to rebirth rather than reincarnation and there is a subtle difference. Reincarnation means the individual ego and personality survives and is reborn in another body.

One reason Christians don't believe in reincarnation—the belief that we come back to life over and over again—is because they believe in heaven.

After all, if heaven is real (as Christians believe), then there isn't any need for an endless cycle of dying and coming back to Earth. In fact, why would we want to return time and time again to the pain and insecurities of this life? Ahead of us is the glory of heaven! As the Bible says, "I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us" (Romans 8:18).

There is, however, another reason why Christians reject the idea of reincarnation. It is this: No matter how long we lived—or how many lives we had—we could never erase the stain of sin that keeps us from God. In other words, we could never reach perfection. But God loves us and has provided the way for all our sins to be forgiven. That way is Jesus Christ, who died as the one final sacrifice for our sins.

Don't be misled by false hopes or deceptive dreams that will only take you down the wrong path. Instead, face your own need of God and by faith commit yourself to Jesus Christ. In Him we have hope—hope for this life and hope for life with Him in heaven forever.

Etymologically it means "to become (living) flesh again", "to enter flesh and make it a living body".

It comes from Latin:

"Re" stands for "again";

"In" stands for "going into";

"Carn..." means "flesh";

"Ation" means "action".

"The action of going into flesh again".

Now, the religious or scientifical aspect of reincarnation is another story. I don't think it has been proved as a fact yet. It remains as something you believe or not.

Just another bit of nonsense about what happens to a person's imaginary soul after death.
