yes they do believe that there is life after death & they do believe in rebirth also.if u read bhodisatva stories u will understand it better.

Buddhism tends to lean away from the temporary states of life and death ... focusing on eternal existance.
However, most sects of Buddhism do prescribe to the concept of reincarnation ... not a "life after death" ... but rather a continual state of reanimating the same life until it achieves enlightenment and "escapes" the physical cycle by realizing the true nature of the universe.

Buddhists theory of re-incarnation is based on Hindu belief.
Reincarnation is a truth, as soul has to lean innumerable lessons before reaching divinity.
If some do not accept it, Truth does not change...Truth is Truth not because we accept it as truth!!

many lives follow after you are dead
there are 3 worlds in their belief;
1st world is for humans, animals, and low-class angels (who still associate with sex)
2nd world is for higher-class angels who are not interested in sex
3rd world is for highest class of angels who have no appearance. just their souls exist.
each world has hierarchical position. if you do good deeds, in the following incarnation you will be born in higher rank maybe in the same world or the higher world. if you reach the highest rank in the highest world, you will be able to get out of the cycle - you will not be born again and that's called NIRVANA, the highest goal of Buddism.
