While watching sometimes it gets switched off. I have to again start it with remote.. Sometimes it happens once in hour or sometimes every 2 minutes. What could be the exact problem. Can i repair it at home by changing some capacitor or something?? Please help.

If it needs repair I would highly suggest you get a pro to do it. TVs are dangerous not only because of the eclectic, but there's the picture tube that can be accidentally shattered and can cause physical harm to you.
My TV has a "sleep" mode. It'll play for a set time then turn itself off, does yours have this and are you somehow setting it or bumping the remote to set it?
If you're not causing it accidentally, then get a pro to look at it just to be on the safe side.

Might be some sleep timer is switched on check it out...or your parents might have used automatic child lock preventing you from viewing a few channels or restrict the timing you watch the t.v...you gotta reset it!!

It may have a timer. Like a sleep button. I suggest you read the manual before investing money in repairs.

Sounds like you need a new TV. Mine did that, its something to do with the bulb inside, either hire a repair man or toss it. Sorry, hope this is helpful.

Check if it is due to the problem in TV power supply, (SMPS), this may happens due to excessive heating of any component in SMPS.

Check if it is due to over heating or there is voltage fluctuation. If it is due to overheating, arrange for air flow to cool it down. If due to voltage fluctuation arrange for a voltage stabilizer.
