Not sure. My mom always tell me exactly what she wants for her birthday and then tells me she can't beleive I spent all that money on her for her birthday! It's pretty funny!

One thing she really likes though is when I send her flowers for my birthday as a thank you.

If I were you, added to taking her out for a just the two of us dinner or brunch. I'd try to think back on my childhood and the simple things she used to adore, and make a giftbasket. Then write a poem ---- or find a sweet poem online and handwrite it for her. Mother's never get tired of those stuff. Then I'd read the poem out over dinner or brunch and present a toast to her being the best mum in the world. Gifts might fade away, but that memory of feeling treasured and appreciated never will. Good luck.

ahmmm
material presents are good gifts for your mom
but that is not enough
i think you should have a gift for her not only by a material thing but also by your heart.
what i mean is you will avoid doing things that might make her mad.
even if you dont have something to give her,
just by giving a kiss to your mom is enough
that kiss can complete her day
saying i love you mom can make her to be the happiest mom in the world.
i hope you liked my suggestion

I don't think buying beautiful gifts can match spending a whole day with her out for lunch, dinner, movie and constantly hugging her warmly saying I love you mummy.

Christmas you give something for fun. Birthdays you give something of needs. How about warm clothing, sweater, sitting blanket, thermals, socks, shoes, coat.

hey
I think it depends on how old she turns.
maybe a nice bag, or jewelry, or you can frame nice pictures of you and your mom, or the whole family (a collage).
something personal is always nice!
