Always stretch out before training! Buy some shoes with good shocks in them, this can make all the difference. When landing a roll from more than four feet make sure to land into a roll. About your current injury, if possible keep pressure off of your foot and if the pain doesn't stop soon visit a doctor.

Maybe you're not shifting your momentum correctly. It sounds like you're landing squarely on your feet so the impact is absorbed fully by your feet.

Experienced jumpers know how to fall and roll properly so that they don't land on squarely on their feet. They're only placing weight on it for a millisecond and then tuck into a roll so that they rest of the momentum moves sideways.

My stepdad was in the 82nd Airborne as a Paratrooper and they teach you how to roll when you do jumps like that and know how to absorb that shock landing when their feet hit the ground.

There's a jumping Video floating on MySpace called "Real Life Ninjas." It totally kicks ***.

It's a 5-minute Video that shows these awesome street people that are leaping off 10 foot high walls, rooftops, and high places. You see how they roll when they hit the ground so that they don't hurt themselves.

Easy-peasy. Stop doing it!

If you overdo any exercise you can do damage to your tendons & soft tissue. Give this a rest for a few days, then resume a little at a time. After that, limit the exercise to a really sensible level. After all, you're not trying to break a world record (or are you??!). It's not worth hurting yourself.

Good luck

Learn the falling techniques from Parachute Jumping and Judo that cushion the blow as you hit the ground.

The technique is known as a 'Parachute Landing Fall'. Heres a link.
