There is no way to find which specific files are fragmented as just 1 file may be fragmented over the HDD a number of times
As you have lots of files on you system it would be virtually impossible to say or scan for the specific ones
The idea is to do a defrag so that you can get these files all together and therefore stop you HDD reading arm bouncing backward and forwards over you hdd
TIP - do the defrag in safemode as there are less system processes using the hdd and gives you a better defrag

Why would you want to know which ones they are? Surely you just defrag and repair them no matter what they are. Or do you have files that won't defrag? and you want to know which files they are? The biggest culprit is the Windows virtual memory swap file. I remember that Norton's Speed disc used to defrag the swap file, while the built in Microsoft one doesn't. German company O&O also make decent defrag programs, not sure if they do anything for free home use.

It is the reorganization of the entire C drive, usually. The defragmentation program rewrites all the files and stores them in adjacent sectors or a contiguous order...helping your computer read files and data much quicker. There might be a few that are never moved from their particular order, but the order is all rewritten...your question just makes me want to ask you, "why do you want to know, why are you concerned?"

I'm not sure that you will be able to identify individual files that are fragmented. (Fragmented, by the way, simply means that the files don't run contiguously (i.e. next to one another), which enables the PC to read them faster.)

the fragmented files are files left over from programming process or files stored as C:\Temp....files from downloads that are not completely erased from ur drive...as far as knowing the name of fragmented files if u are computer savvy and understand the binary code which these files are stored under the u can find ...but i would not concern myself on just which files they are if computer thought they were worth keeping computer would not delete them with out ur permission
