I believe christians should not go around preaching on yahoo or anywhere else for that matter. Most christians I have come across are extremely rude and arrogant to presume that it is all right to ram their beliefs down my throat.

I have quite different beliefs from most christians and I don't try to immpose my beliefs on them. No wonder they were once fed to the lions.

Why are so many people hypocritical period???

It does not matter if they are Christian or not, hypocrisy is not just a Christian ailment/ malady.

Preach first and ask questions later. But usually you can get a good laugh out of their ramblings on about their beliefs. But not all Christians are like that, from what I've seen it's more the Christians that were born into the religion that are rude and arrogant. However, the born again christians are usually polite to me, and don't speak much of their religion if you show no interest.

Please don't judge all by the actions of certain ones. I am christian but have remained true to MY BELEIFS. I am actually even thinking of leaving the Catholic Church.. One of Jesus' biggest and most important message was when he kept a sinner from being stoned. He said" Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." The crowd disipated..There is much more to this story and a moral lesson which the world should be taking.. We are not here to judge any one for any reason for any lifestyle. I know exactly what you meant by posting the question. God will judge in the end. What soever we do to the least of our brothers. Live good, live clean, help when you can and most important, LIVE AND LET LIVE! Jesus will take care of the rest...Tell me, How many abortions has george bush orevented since he became pres.? The religious right has brainwashed alot of good people, and this is sad. How many innocent American and coiation troops have been killed or maimed? How many innocent men women and espically children haave brn kiked,

You answered it yourself.

Preaching the Gospel and seeking to convert others to Christianity is a core christian principle which our lord Jesus Christ laid down.

If your views are so different to other "Christians" are you sure you are a Christian? trouble is there is no mainstream Fundementalist Christian religion out there. Catholics, Cof E Salvation Army even have all adopted non Christian elements from Judaeism and elsewhere as part of their package.
For me the non conformists get nearest but they still build meeting houses whereas Jesus just preached where convenient, I reckon he would use the Lobby at the local shopping mall if he came back tomorrow, I know the Cof E would prefer him to use St Pauls and the Catholics somewhere in Rome but I reckon Jesus would want to preach to ordinary folk not just the converted.

If they are seeking to preach non core Christian beleifs as Christian, particularly old testament ideas, or that alcohol or drugs are wrong as Christian ideals they are indeed Hypocrits,
however this was covered by one of the 10 commandments, Thou shalt not take the Name of the Lord thy God in vain, it does not mean dont use bad language more like Dont infringe Gods copyright by sticking his label on something he didn't make is probably a better analogy.

otherwise you are the Hypocrit if you condem Christians who follow jesus's instruction to convert others.
Sitting back and letting Muslims carry on as Muslims for instance, knowing they aint going to make it to Heaven yet they could do so easily by accepting Jesus's way of peace and love aint what being a good Christian is about.

Avoid opening your mouth, and then you won't be able to have anything rammed down your throat the added advantage is you won't look like an idiot either.

You infact, are now are preaching your belief to people who don't care. Are you ramming your belief down my throat?
Yes, although I have the option to ignore you, just as you do.

I'd advise using common sense, but judging by your last comment; you have very little.

Making a statement that all Christians are hypocritical is about as bad as saying all bald people are idiots. I personally would not make either statement. What I would do, if I didn't like preaching, is to get out of the Religion & Spirituality forum.

Your question does not express much tolerance for beliefs that are different than your own, in fact your comment about feeding them to the lions is very violent and abusive, don't you think?
Are you offended because your question asking how to steal a copy of photoshop was met with some offense? There will be plenty of pride filled hypocrites in Hell, and forgiven ones in Heaven, I will be one of them...

All beliefs are hypocritical because nobody knows anything for sure, they waste their lives attempting to find God and slap him in the face by not living their lives instead in the moment. Obsessed with death, but not sure what they will find when they get there. Frozen in life for fear they will be punished in death. Disrespectful of life and of so called death. Athiests are just as arrogant and rude as the religious people, just as judgmental.

If you were all so sure of your beliefs you would not need to defend them, you would just live them!

Not all Christians are like that. The sincere ones who are really walking in Jesus' light will not try to ram stuff down your throat, but instead to share with you gently, and even if you were to retaliate with force, would not hate you nor force stuff on you.

Dont let a handful spoil your impression of the true faith in God.

i can'r see any people trying to force beliefs, more like being annoyed at terrorist movements,,,,, OK muslims at the moment but if this was around when Hitler was it would have been about him, or the IRA, It's just one of those things, no one is imposing anything on anyone ecxept the belief of the right to live

Seriously... just how many Christians are you talking about?! 5? 10? How many?! A little 'reality check' is always in order before making ANY sweeping statements about ANY 'group' of people. Craig!! :o)
