It doesn't. The saying, "it is either heaven or hell," is a saying created by man.

Well, there is no "hell" per say, its a misunderstanding by Christians. The word hell is translated from the Greek "hades" which means the place of the dead. In short, its the grave. Not a place of burning fire and demons torturing sinners, but just where the dead wait for judgment. The Catholics have it the closest with Purgatory, but its not a place where prayers and good deeds get relatives out of it.

The idea of hades, the land of the dead, is actually a Jewish idea. Just simply where the dead go to wait for God's Judgment Day. That on that Day, God would bring all the dead out of hades and from the sea to stand before Him for Judgment.

Now, it's after judgment that comes the ideas of heaven and hell, but even that got misunderstood by the Christians too. What is considered "heaven" is actually a renewed earth. God would clean the planet and renew it as it was in the times of the Garden of Eden. And all those who have lived a holy life approved by God (meaning not committing murder, not stealing, caring for others, etc) would be allowed to enter the renewed earth. But those who have done evil before God would be cast out, in this case, into the lake of fire. The lake of fire isn't the traditional "hell" where people are tortured for all eternity. Actuall the lake of fire is a prison for Satan and his demons, not a living place for humans. While Satan and his demons are trapped for all eternity, humans are destroyed there, hence the "second death". Its actually a form of mercy from God. Rather have soo many be tortured for eternity, they are removed from existing, thus removing evil from God's sight.

There are 4 hells!
The last is the lake of fire, which is death, far more real than a flesh death!

And after this, the earth will again be made new, and heaven and hell will pass away.
God the Father, will be on earth for ever!
even the Sun which we will no longer need will pass away, but not this earth!

Lots of people are already dead (or otherwise taken out) at the time of this prophecy's fulfillment. Those folks are either in heaven or hell.

The folks living at the end of the great tribulation (probably mostly little children, I speculate), will live into the millenial reign (that's 1000 years of having more children--do the math). They are living on the new earth after this one is destroyed by God at the end of the great tribulation.

Nice try, though.

I have alway thought it was in the Ocean bed where no one can get down too.

Is there a verses that say the Beast come up out of the water?

And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

as in science fiction, as in magical acts...
the quote is
"if you buy the premise, you'll buy the bit"
your belief system, not mine....however....
various possibilities

new heaven and hell could be the here and now
the new heaven and hell could be a different dimension
in the space-time continuum
the new heaven and hell exist only in the mind of god
to be revealed to you only after you have passed on
the new heaven and hell are constantly being created in the mind of g-d, such that each person has his/her own individualized "hereafter"
the "new" is simply a commentary of the "new" covenant

as to the question "where is any hell"....
the classical answer is ...where god isn't

"Hell"......You're lookin' at it right now! Picture this........ , you have one Ant Farm. You start out with two ants (adam ant and eve ant), Actually, ten ants are more fun than two.!!!! So you have to get four more Ant Farms. Do you actually think that God has only one Ant Farm???? Maybe He transfers a few of the First Ants over to the new Ant farm [ nice and clean and better than the First]. Then you come back to a new life as a Human being and you repeat the socialogy of the First......
