fine, MANY Christians. that's a fact. I never suggested his actions were due to his Catholicism. I only want to set the record straight. He was NOT an atheist!

wow, you really offended a lot of Christians. I would guess that most of them haven't really figured out the religion really doesn't do much to change human nature, its simply a part of human nature. Hitler simply used existing belief structures to justify his actions and policy's to his people and himself, not really any different than any other head of state of any other world power. happens with average person also, religion is often a convenient set morals that can easily be traded for ones own ability to think and can easily be used to excuse bigoted behavior, many raciest groups are very religious and religious morals are they only reason for such things as bans on abortion and gay marriage. And for all those who would like to say that what he did is something no christian would, or that ethnic cleansing is something no true religion would take part in: Muslims have been around just as long as Christians and its just as real for them as it is for you in fact I bet you wouldn't be willing to blow yourself up for your religion so which is more real? and you all might want to read a little history, catholic church is responsible for more wars and deaths then Hitler and Stalin combined.

Hitler was not Christian. He practiced pagan and superstition. And for the comment made earlier saying:

He was very christian. Why would he NOT worship the religion that converted billions of jewish people? Also, the Arians, originally, were christian.

Do you have a clue what you're talking about? Do you mean "Arians", "Ariens", or "Aryans"?

There was such a thing as the ARIAN HERESY and the person it was named for; ARIUS.

"ARYANS" is probably what you meant. The Aryan race was a term used in the early 20th century by European racial theorists who believed strongly in the division of humanity into biologically distinct races with differing characteristics. Such writers took the view that the Proto-Indo-Europeans constituted a specific race that had expanded across Europe, Iran and India. This meaning was, and still is, common in theories of racial superiority which were embraced by Nazi Germany. This usage tends to merge the Avestan/Sanskrit meaning of "noble" or "elevated" with the idea of distinctive behavioral and ancestral ethnicity marked by language distribution. In this interpretation, the Aryan Race is both the highest representative of mankind and the purest descendent of the Proto-Indo-European population.

Aryan also has roots in the Iranian Persian people. And the Iranians it originally denoted and the NAZI Germans later, were neither Christian.

Why would you assume that all Christians lie about Hitler's religion which he didn't practice anyway. How many did you ask? Are you an expert on Christians and how they respond on any given question? You have proof that Hitler was not an Atheist, where is your proof that all Christians lie about it?

In all honesty, I have never heard it said that Hitler was an atheist. In truth, I have heard it said more often that "Hitler was a Christian" by atheists (which itself is also a lie, as the quality of Christiandom is not defined by words, but by actions, such as preserving life, forbidding of hatred and murder, and showing love and compassion to our enemies).

In truth, he did nothing more than be two-faced. In one instance, he said "Today, after two thousand years, with deepest emotion I recognize more profoundly than ever before the fact that it was for this that He had to shed his blood upon the Cross.", however, in the next instance, he says, "Our epoch in the next 200 years will certainly see the end of the disease of Christianity.... My regret will have been that I couldn't... behold "

At very best, he was a theist... and at very worst (most likely), a neo-pagan who either believed God was nature deified, or believed in self-apotheosis (that is, that he himself was lifted up to be divine).

Indeed, Hitler was no atheist (as an atheist is defined by believing in no gods)... but do not believe the lie that Hitler was a Christian either (as a Christian is defined by both believing in Christ and *doing* what Christ told us to do... ie never kill or hate, for starters).

What is most ironic of all, is that, although Hitler praised Christ for 'fighting' against the Jews (again, not entirely true... Christ 'fought' [in the sense of speaking truth against] the lies of the self-righteous Pharisees). Hitler rose to power by means of lying (propaganda) to the masses.

...Hitler became the very thing Jesus sought to end.

You ignorant piece of sh*t. Guess what else. Hitler was deeply obsessed with the Occult. He also received daily methamphetamine injections and distributed the drug widely among his troops. So if you're trying to pull a fast one by claiming that his actions reflected his faith, you're misled. They were probably the result of methamphetamine psychosis, self-loathing (he himself was gay and jewish), or any number of things.

Robert,
Please see the answers above yours. You might be the only reasonable Christian here.

Adyghe,
You didn't read the links, did you?

If you read Hittlers book you will see his religious views. Christian? Kind of. The book will also show how his strange version of "Christian" played into his political views.

maybe because he acted as if he had no fear of God,and if he had, then he wouldnt have been doing the kinds of things he did?
just a thought but he spoke pretty clearly through his actions that he may have held to a name (of religion) but it wasnt what he truely believed (clearly evidenced by the way he lived) no religion accepts mass executions of innocent people....

Why would he be christian? He would never give his life to Jesus (who was a Jew). He HATED jews more than anything. Just because he claimed to be a christian doesnt mean that he is.

It is not a matter of lying, it's a matter of evil, who he was, why always accusing people first thing, don't you have anything else better to do?
