And when i say small, i mean half the size of my hand. Do they even make them like that? I don't know. I'm certainly no expert on the subject. But i've got a great idea and need to find one that size. It doesn't need to be very powerful. To give you an idea, way more powerful than ones in toys, but not near as powerful as the ones in fans.

btw, there wasn't really a good category for this question, so engineering will do.

You could try an electronic shop. If they don't have one ask them if they could order one in for you.

Alternatively some toys have motors in them. The racing cars in the scale electrical and other toys that usually move in some way often have motors in them.

hardware stores are very good at supplying on board smaller motors in a lot of fields today. you can pull open the duct work of your furnace ducting and insert a small motored fan to help long runs with slow flow, these come now all premade up and ready to use, not ho-made. there are as many application in small motors as there are large ones. an small sewing machine at the junk yard my give you access to more ideas at the junk yards about what the yard does with motors available to you. many good motors come to the junk yard for reasons that have nothing to do with the condition of the motor but a lot of times it has to do with throwing away something that isn't needed or has been replaced, but the motors a striped off and put in piles this is what yard crews do all day is break down the part of all things and pile them accordingly to what they are as resalable items and they need continuity checks for power load capability left in them usually you can hold on to the motor with one hand and grab the shaft when you start it up and see how easily it can be stalled by doing this. if you can pull it down and slow it up too easy for what you need keep looking til you get what your looking for, good luck, ware pair gloves too. the shafts get warm from the resistance of you holding on to it.make sure u understand that if you are doing110 voltages on your application don't try to use a motor that is not the same voltage, that about all the tricky stuff there is.

Any electric motor shop can provide you with the exact motor that you need. Show or tell them what you need it for and they can sell you one that has the exact speed , size and power needed for your application.
My girl friend has a small motor on a toy that she sleeps with . I hear it buzzing at night but I do not know exactly what it does.
