Mine kind of went back, but they'll never be the same as they were before. My breasts never came close to recovering either. HOWEVER, my kids are extremely healthy and I saved roughly $5200 per child by not using formula, so I'm fine with it.

What is normal for some may be freakish to others....who cares? Your nippels will never be the same and your child will be healthy - a fair trade . Your nipples will be just fine (probally even better than before) so relax and don't worry about the small things......your a better mother for breastfeeding your child - let the others be "normal"!!!!

Very fast, a few days to a few weeks maximum.
My child is still capable of bringing forward breast milk if she sucks my wife's nipples. She is four already and had breast feed until she was 2.5 years old. It's amazing. Apparently the child has a way of stirring the breast, so that the breast knows it has to produce milk on the spot. One of mother natures miracles.

I stopped nursing 6 months ago. My son was over 2 1/2 years old. And they never went back to normal. They kind of go to the side since that is the way he nursed. I am 5 months along with my 2nd child and I plan to nurse this child as long as he/she wants to!
