I have windows xp how do I get it to autorun to download a program from a disc?

my computer/right click on the cdrom/properties

there you will see the autorun selection.

It is automatically like that better use autorun CDS

Click Start, you should see a file named run, click on that. Then choose browse. And the click on CD drive. This should give you the option of opening the auto run program on your disk.
