Hello. I think you are seriously trying to have an adult conversation here so I will speak my peace. I am not against immigration. I do have problem with illegal immigration for economic reason. If you are not a citizen you are not paying taxes and our tax dollars are used to support our nation (roads, schools, medicare, public aid etc.). When we have large numbers of people here that aren't paying into the system it places a financial strain on our country. That is my first concern. Also since 9/11 we need to be more careful about who is entering our country and whether or not they are documented and here with permission. I have nothing against Mexican people or anyone else that wants to come to my country. I just want them to go through the proper channels and participate in the economics of our nation. peace.

Americas problem is not with legal immigration, its with the invasion of millions of illegals that are flooding this country especially the southwest. And the majority of people in the US speak English or a reasonable facsimile there of.English is the language of our government .We are an English speaking society.
The illegal depresses the wages for labor related jobs,he is willing to take far below even the minimum wages that employers must pay here so he is accepting and under the table money that the American worker cant live on .The illegal does not pay income tax or any taxes on the schools, roads, hospitals etc that he uses without paying for.sales taxes do not address that need so are irrelevant. With easily obtained false or forged documents he can apply for welfare, public assistance and other public programs set up for citizens well being.Again he has not and should not be getting these services.
While the US may be composed of immigrants they were not illegal immigrants. The first whole scale law was not in effect until 1924.
Another point ,the Indians were also not native to the US having immigrated to this land via the Bering Strait from another Continent.
And you do find a lot of college graduates working at jobs to which they are highly over educated, but one does what one must to get along in the world.
I live in Arizona and we are over run with illegal immigrants, most ,if not all are Hispanic .We don't have a lot of those pesky lol Canadians sneaking across our northern border, looking for work.
I do not hate any one and I welcome legal immigration, but I adamantly and actively oppose any illegal immigrants from any country.10,000illegals plus are a problem in a country that is based on law. They are criminals because they broke the laws of the US by entering this country illegally. No to any Amnesty for criminal illegal immigrants.Deportation not legalization of criminals.

Americans are not pissed off with all immigrants, just the criminals, child molesters, killers and rapists. We have enough already here.Check the statistics, immigrants have a high criminal rating.Immigrants don't understand the laws here in the U.S.Some think it is a free for all rampage. So what is wrong with Cuba,Mexico,South America? We go there for our vacations. It is the bad guys that want out, looking for money and freedom, any way they can get it! Plus they have about 10 children per family. There was a quote recently in the news where some Mexican radical said in 20 years there would be more Mexicans here then Americans!!! Of course that is a stretch, but Americans Don't like to hear things like THAT!

Unfortunately, everything you say will fall on deaf ears, they don't think critically: they accuse imigrants to take jobs and take benefits, by the way: benefits they don't qualify for because they don't have a Social security number. they accuse them of not paying taxes which is blattantly untrue, and some other false charges, while they ignore the reality. If you see the history of the USA there has always been a racial group against dislike or hate was aimed at, and many others throughout history have had their turn to be blamed for all the problems they have, you know that "illiegal" immigration in this country has never stopped since they took california, New mexico and texas, mexicans have just never left. one day they woke up, they saa a lot of rallies on the street, millions of mexicans on the streets protesting an antihumane law and all of a sudden they are stricken with terror, as if their country had just been recently invaded, which is ludicrous. the media, especially FOX did a good job on inflaming the opinions and stiring discontent, result: Now it's mexicans who get all the blame, just like in its own time were east europeans, italians, Irish, Chinese, and alwasy of course the african americans.
This is a country that has lost the critical capacity to discern truths, a country that will believe everything their media and government tell them ,not knowing that what their media shows them obscures reality with a purpose, with the purpose of stirring public opinion towards where they want to. the truth is that nobody wanst to analize the fatcs. And they are content on believing what they want and any opposite opinion inmediately generates a violent response, just watch all the thumbs down i am gonna get, but i don't care because I take it from who it comes.
I hope one day this country changes for the good of everybody, my children and all's children.

ILLEGAL being the key word here ! they burden our tax system, they are not properly inoculated so they spread disease among the population, many have committed crimes in other country's, they work off the books P/T. To get welfare benefits, they work part time on the books, giving them a larger salary, then they do NOT put back into the tax base. Americans ARE immigrants from other country's BUT, we came here legally, where documented, quarantined (in many cases) and worked hard AND PAID TAXES. The United States of America is NOT the world's Dumping ground, and WE DO NOT OWE ANY ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS ANYTHING ! How dare they tell us that WE NEED THEM, we can build a machine that can pick fruit you know ! and don't tell me that they do jobs that Americans would'nt do, Americans won't do the job for 4$ an hour, it's at 4$ an hour because the employer can get the cheap labor, and put more $ in his pocket, so those that are pro-illegal immigration, usually are small business owners that can exploit the situation making it worse, amazingly most small business owners (and large corporations) are also liberals, kina funny, don't ya think ?

A lot of people are simply prejudice against people and cultures they don't understand or aren't like themselves.
As far as illegal immigrants this is touchy issue because there are valid reasons for not wanting illegals which are health issues such as bringing in diseases, different strains of illnesses not found in this country. Also because it's more likely for a criminal immigrant to be an illegal immigrant than a legal one.
Of course there are ridiculous reasons for not liking immigrants which are prejudices which I mentioned above and the belief that they are stealing our jobs. This country is becoming more and more of a white collar country and having someone that can fill the blue collar and manual labor jobs is vital to us. This reasoning usually applies to both legal and illegal immigrants.
Regarding the language of the United States: most people speak English because that is language of most of the people who founded the country. It is also very practical for people to speak the same language. America generally accepts English as it's language however we do not have an official language.

I'm not pissed off at immigrants myself. I'm all for immigration, but I do see where someone who IS felling that way is coming from. You see, not all Americans have college degrees. There are Americans out there that have no choice but to go for the menial jobs. What I think is, when it comes to the job market, America should look out for it's own first instead of hiring these illegal immigrants just because they can be paid less. Of course, that is probably never going to happen, so, these American attitudes against immigration may never change.

OK, I'll explain it to you.
First of all, the issue is not immigration, it is illegal immigration.
Since nearly all Americans came from immigration, it is absurd to not like immagrants, we all are.
The problem is that those who choose to run across deserts and come in illegally, are not going to be very good for ANY country. Why? First off because they are criminals by definition, second of all, they are failures in their own country or they'd not be hot-footing it over a desert to get in here.
Finally, what actually IS ticking people off is not even so much that some people are coming in illegally, it is that some of these people (and some dems also) are now claiming that it didn't matter they came in illegally and are now ENTITLED to such and such for no other reason than they broke the law. "Hey, they are here, why does it matter how they got in?" Huh? You're kidding right?
Anyone who cannot see that this is absurd, unfair, and the opposite of how things should work is a person that I cannot explain it to.
It really is not that complicated.

first off, imigrants are of corse going to be from another country. second the whole thing starts because anthroplogicly, everyone thinks that their society is better than others, when from an anthroplogists prespective there are no lesser or greater races/ethnic groups. people dont like immigrants in america, because they THINK that they are taking away jobs from people, and that they only work in taco-bell and such. when it is proven that if there is a lack of unskilled labor in an given field, skilled laborers will take the jobs, and lastly, i would be happy if a harvard graduate was working at taco-bell, they might not mess up on my order!
