I think, and I'm no expert, but I think a lot are making a bid for attention. They accidentally succeed. They are so overwhelmed with despair, and they want others to know that. The ones that want to succeed usually do a very good job of making sure they won't survive. The ones that make a "weinie" attempt, or just threaten it, are screaming for help. But I really think, many are not meaning to succeed.

Depression, in general terms. I just read a news release in the paper this morning about how our elderly have the highest suicide rate. It didn't list specific reasons, like money or health, etc, but the central reason is depression - which can be caused by a number of things and probably depend ant at least a little on age groupings. Health issues and mobility are significant to the aging population. In fact the article gave the opinion that the suicide rate among the elderly should be considered a national embarrassment.

Most people commit suicide to escape problems that they feel they will never be able to solve. People have different problems that they do not want to deal wit. Deception is also another reason. Sometimes, people expect to much from the world and from the people they love and when they feel like they are not getting what they 'deserve' they feel like nothing makes sense in their life, so why bother live it.

Cause they can not deal with what is happening in their life and it has caused them to be depressed and think of the easy way out.
