Nope. This issue is not addressed anywhere in the Constitution. It would have come up during the debate concerning action in Iraq if it was.

Action in Iraq, including the possibility of a pre-emptive strike, had been on the table for most of the previous decade.

(1) This is NOT a military question.

(2) You imbeciles who couched the war in terms of moral stances or infringement of the rights of other sovereign nations need to reread the question AGAIN.

(3) The legal justification as submitted in the "Joint Resolution to Authorize the Use of United States Armed Forces Against Iraq" is encapsuled here:

You may not like it, but you sure as hell won't have the Supreme Court backing you up on a case to the contrary.

We learned from history in Vietnam and Korea, keep the politicians out and let the generals win the war....unconstitutional or not. The largest strike on US soil was met with retribution. I still remember the impromtu singing of God Bless America on the steps of Congress by members from both parties...the country was united...

nope. Was it the right thing to do at the time? The president and most of congress thought so. Have mistakes been made in fighting the war on terror in Iraq? Oh yes. What should we do now? Glad I don't have to make that decision. But I know this, we can't fight terrorism with a politically correct frame of mind. Some politicians holler about how we treat prisoners not because they really care but to just make political points with people, But I never hear them holler as loud about the beheadings and other gross things those butchers do. Some crazy stuff goin on here. We are not the America who defended itself against Hitler nor Japan. We will loose this war if we keep going in the direction the liberals want us to go. I'm already getting things ready in my home to defend me and my family. I think that's what it is going to come down to unless we wake up and get mean with those cowards..

Why are not you calling for a nuclear strike against North Korea? The Iranians see merely precisely why Iraq became invaded and North Korea became not - there became no danger of nuclear retaliation. international locations with nuclear weapons do not challenge too plenty a pair of US invasion. So the lesson is, in case you do not pick to be invaded, it would not be a bad thought to get carry of nuclear weapons. And bear in ideas, Israel has the bomb. Why does not neighboring international locations attempt to boost their very own bomb? the U. S. is the only u . s . a . interior the international to have used atomic weapons. So while you could have faith that one and all our intentions are solid and merely, the the remainder of the international isn't so particular. once you're quite worried with regard to the unfold of nuclear weapons (exceedingly interior the palms of volatile persons), then you ought to push for secular democracy and human rights - not in hassle-free terms inexpensive exertions markets and a pipeline for inexpensive customer products.

Unconstitutional, immoral, illegal I could use any number of descriptions but the most appropriate is badness. Invading Iraq was pure badness on the part of the US.

Yes, I think it is unconstitutional, since there is no evidence of Weapons of Mass Destruction and nothing have been found until now, but still invade Iraq. No wonder France rejected the idea of invasion in the first place.
