drink cheap whiskey any way you want to. Drink good single malt Scotch whiskey the way it is supposed to be drunk, with just a wee bit o' heather, or in other words, just a very small splash of pure cold spring water, which will open the whiskey up and bring out the individual essence of the distillery. No coke, no rocks, nothing but a small amount of spring water. That is how you "should" drink whiskey, and will gain the respect of your bartender, but drink it the way you enjoy it! after all, you're paying for it!

Well, I believe that it is definitely a personal preference, like a Reeses Cup, "there's no wrong way". I know people who drink whisky and milk for upset stomachs.

But, if your looking for the most appropriate way to drink a fine dram of whisky, it would be in a snifter with a wee splash of fresh spring water.

Water "opens up" the whisky and you will indeed notice more flavors from the whisky with a wee bit of water, rather than neat or straight.

If you'd like your whisky a bit chilled, add 1 or 2 cubes of ice, but too much chill will freeze some of the flavors, so not too much ice if you are actually trying to "taste" the whisky.

Slainte!

Coming from Scotland and having drank a few bottles the best way to drink whisky is straight with two cubes of ice or on the rocks as some people call it. Best whisky would have to be Johnnie Walkers Black Lable.

That's a personal preference. So how ever you like it. I like to drink mine straight up, but sometimes I will mix it with cola.

It depends on your taste. I prefer Jack Daniels with coke. But some people prefer it with water, over ice, etc.. Only you can decide what you like the best.

the best and only real way too drink whiskey is straight up, put it on the rocks and you enter the realm of classy. water is for women, and adding sugar destroys the dignity of any beverage.
