I hope you can get him to the Vet as soon as possible. Since he has a fever, he obviously has some kind of infection in his nose and inflammation. It may have started because of a virus or he could have gotten a fox tail or something like that up inside his nose. (that happened to my cat and he was ok after it was removed and treated. Don't give Foxy anything until you can at least call a clinic, but let him continue to drink as much as he wants. His fever is dehydrating him, another reason you need to get him seen asap! He is only one year so I'm sure he is otherwise healthy and he will be ok. Really he will.

Is he an indoor or outdoor cat? Has he had all of his vaccinations? How high is his fever? The normal body temperature for a cat is between 100 to 102. If it's above that then it's not normal and he should be seen by the vet. He could also be "breathing out of his mouth" because he is panting that's how cats sweat. It could also be that your cats has allergies. Cats will not eat what they can't smell so that might be the contributing factor to his loss of appetite. Vets are open all night just look in your phone book under emergency vets in your area. I would just try an observe him for the next couple of hours if he seems to get worse bring him to the vet. If money is an issue you can always set up payment plans. Most vets allow this. Good luck with your baby and try to stay calm.

I'm not a vet, but have experience. A high fever indicates an infection of some sort. Also having signs of running nose etc, please take yr cat to vet immediately for anti biotics and eliminate a case of cat flu, which can be fatal if not treated quickly. Good luck and hope all is well with yr cat.

It happened last week with our cat, she had a virus and the vet gave her some antibiotic for 7 days and also some pills that will help her to eat. The bill was very high about $580.00 with the blood work. She is doing well 100% back to be happy cat.

1. First make sure he pees normally, because drinking a lot of water could imply some urinary problem. If he is blocked, he needs to get to the doctor immediately.
2. He probably needs medication (antibiotics), so take him to the vet.

Take him to the vet as soon as possible. Give him lots of water, If he
doesn't want to eat don't force him. Just do what the vet tells you!

I would get him to the vet, asap if you dont have the money you can do one of 2 things self medicate (I googled and found out what you can give cats for fever and pain**BUT I would be very careful since he is having a hard time breathing that is scary I never had that happen before) 2nd option is to take him to the pound and they will either fix or put to sleep yes hard choice but you dont want to see him suffer or sufficate.
