Yes, primary complex is a bacterial disease common in pediatric patiatients. This is what we call pulmonary tubercolosis (causative agent: Mycobacterium tuberculosis) in adults (but not transmitted to adults), but do not be alarmed because if you follow the medication he will come out just fine. the doc gave him a triad therapy so no need to worry....
Just make sure he eats nutritious food: Fruits, veggies are fine.....
Make fruit shakes, cookies that are nutritious, search for kid's meals which are nutritious, delectable and easy to prepare.

Rimactazid consists of Rifampicin and Isoniazid. The dose of Rifampicin is 15 mg. per Kg. per day single dose and Isoniazid, 10 mg. per Kg. Generally, combination drugs area not given in children. I would give 1 1/2 teaspoon of RIF and one tablet of INH, aalong with athird drug. I do not understand what is Adliv. I would give tablet pyrazinamide (500 mg.) 1/2 tablet once daily. A fourth drug is also recommended initially in countries with a high resistance to anti TB first line drugs, as in India and Pakistan. I would give injection streptomycin 250 mg. intramuscularly daily.4 drugs should be given for 2months and 2 drugs for the next 6 to 8 months . RIF and INH should be continued throughout. There is no need for dietary restriction. That is due more to culture rather than fact. Give a normal balanced diet with a vitamin and mineral supplement. Try to find the adult the child caught the infection from and also treat him. That is very important. As for side- effects, get Liver Function Tests done and repeaat every three months.
