Because we love our prophet and our religion

I wondered the same thing.

I guess if the billion or so muslims around the world were equally insensed by these things there would be greater problems than the world has now.

It makes for great news to show a lot of emotional people protesting. What surprises me, though, is how the statement the Pope made was taken out of context. Furthermore, if someone accuses me of being violent, I'm not going to respond by punching them in the mouth or burning an effigy.

That doesn't help, it actually alienates people. Why would I feel bad for someone who reacts to something said--regardless of that persons status and power--in a manner that is mired with violent intent, threats of revenge, demands for apology, and promises of "doom". If one is truly faithful, they do not care what others think, they don't need to make a huge dramatic show of their feelings to better communicate to each other that they are true believers. One who is truly faithful knows that the one and only god can read their hearts, knows their intentions and does not expect some fiasco in the streets as proof of this. In the realms of belief and faith, protests made in the heart are the most important. By remaining true to ones beliefs and never balking from fulfilling the covenant of the five pillars of Islam one will be closer to the expectations of the Prophet than those who scream bloody murder.

I find it funny how people who have chosen the path of extremism fall short of the true purpose behind their religious convictions. Take Christian extremists who blow up abortion clinics, kill doctors and nurses, and claim they are saving lives. Wow!!!

Regardless of religious beliefs, there are always extremists, people who wear their emotions on their sleaves and over react to everything. I think it funny that if none of these people reacted in the way that they did, then few if anyone other than those at the German college would have known about it. I think these people who "love their Prophet and Allah," did more harm to these great beings than the Pope or any cartoonist ever did or could.

Radical muslims, and i stress the "radical" here, are way too sensitive, like a PMS-ing woman. Every little thing can can set them to blow up buildings, hijack airliners and gun down priests and nuns. Yes, catholics do protest movies and things that hurt their image, but they DO NOT go blow up buildings or kill members of the other religion. They simply forgive as taught by their faith. Can you imagine World Wars 3-10 occuring simulatneously if someone made a sequal to The Da Vinci code, and it was about the Muslim religion and dealt with some sensitive subject within the Muslim religion?

My 2-cents? I think religions should be more tolerant of one another, and i'm directly talking to those "radical" muslims. Can't we all just get along? Stop beotching about every time your nail breaks or someone draws a cartoon. Accept the fact that most terrorists are muslim, but not all muslim are terrorists. Accept the fact that there is somethingn called "free speech" and people are going to express their views, but that "free speech" does give not ANYONE, and i mean ANYONE the right to harm others physically and invoke fear into the heart of others (the definitive definition of a terrorist, whether domestic or abroad).

Peace to everyone on earth, muslim or christian or jew. I truly love everyone. I just don't like anyone who insists on hurting others. Let's focus on forgiveness, and cooperation. It's definately a start to world peace. I do have many friends, and many of them are muslim, but none of them are radical muslims. I have learned a great deal from them, and have come to appreciate their culture. Please keep in mind that I am not writing this to offend muslims in general, but I am targeting that small percentage of muslims who like to hurt people, aka terrorists. Jihads are bad. It's true, they are bad for world peace.

Islam holds Allah so sacred that they do not believe in showing him in any images whatsoever. The same respect is shown towards Allah's prophet Muhammed. It is their faith and their tradition to not show any pictures of Muhammed whatsoever, and when cartoon pictures of Muhammed are made, ridiculous, mean pictures none the less, why would you not expect them to get angry? They have every right to. There is no reason that anyone should disrespect anyone's faith and these cartoons are perfect examples of religious intolerance.

the fact that you are so concerned about a bunch of rowdy people following a set of rules written by a man who had 12 wives , was a known paedophile and thinks that a woman is only raped if 4 men see the act , and worse of all believes that all temples and places of worship which are not in congruence with his ideas should be destroyed (he apprently did that when he attacked mecca) gives these people more strength. muslims are giving a set of rules and they are not allowed to question if they di than they are not muslims hence they dont want to be branded as non muslims and therefore stop thinking about their actions , for example all islam followers whoc read this question would wrtie bull $hit like islam is pecefull and we love allah and blah blah ....its upto to you to decide when to listen and real give these guys a credit , we all have big problems in our lives and are not like a bunch of useless fools with nothing else to do.

they have the right to be.....don't christians protest against the da vinci code......don't hindus protest against gods being picturised on underclothes. after all that its only natural if muslims too protest against cartoons and statements made by the pope.
