Its called genetics.
B= brown eyes
b= blue eyes
(green eyes are just a variation of blue, and hazel are a variation of brown. it has to do with layers in the eye)
You inherit one gene from your mom, and one from your dad.
Say you inherit B from one parent, and b from the other. B is dominant to b. So even though you have a gene for blue eyes, you will have brown eyes. If you inherit B and B, then you will have brown eyes. Inherit b and b, and you will have blue eyes.
Say your mom has brown eyes, but carries the blue eye trait. That means she is Bb. Say your dad is the same thing, Bb. That means you can end up with BB, Bb, or bb. But your chances of brown eyes are better. SO... two brown eyed people CAN have a blue eyed child, but only if they BOTH happen to be carrying the recessive gene for blue eyes, and if you happen to inherit it from both of them.

It's the combined results of genetics and the pigmentation in the iris.
The dominant gene produces brown-eyed people. The recessive gene produces blue-eyed people. But the pigmentation can vary and most eye colors are a combination of the brown and blue pigmentation to produce various different shades, ranging from hazel to green to grey.
The patterns in the iris are as unique to an individual as his or her fingerprints.
You are the only one with that pattern.

Brown eyes are the prettiest colored eyes. You are lucky, l have greenish blue colored eyes, l wish l had beautiful brown eyes but if we all had the same colored eyes we'd never know the differance between pretty eyes and the not so pretty eyes.

its not on the dna.. Its on our retina.. Basically filipinos have black eyes because we eat too much carbo(rice)... But the main reason is that we have different eye shots.. these eye shots are sometimes called retinas bloodline.. Green eyes have XyyX genes while us, we have the YxYx genes...
