He sounds ok, What do you mean by "extremely bad childhood"? Depending on what that means and how he has resolved any negative feelings from it would be a good thing to find out. Nice guys are always great to have as boyfriends, just make sure he is emotionally healthy enough. As for making a move on him, just ask him to do something with you, like a casual walk, coffee, or lunch. See what he says. Let him make all the physical moves - go at his pace.

If you like him, go ahead n date him -- sounds like a great guy.
But DONT break his heart! -- if He's had a bad childhood u dont wanna give him something else to be miserable about. And if he hasn't been with anyone else, then u being his ''first'' will make u all the more ''special'' in his eyes.
Ok... making the move... take it slow... just go for coffee, hang out at first, a movie, dinner -- and THEN go for it. Tho in all probability he'll probably do SOMETHING!!! before you go all out.
Just coz he hasnt been with anyone else before does nOT mean he'll just sit back and make you do all the work. Who knows -- maybe you'll be surprised!

If it is true that he had a bad childhood be ready for some emotional baggage. I don't think that should stop you just take it in to concideration. If you like him and what to see where it goes then do so. Go out on a simple date (but don't call it that). Something like coffee or whatever you and he might have in common. If you are worried about scaring him off then take it slow, but be fore warned some people like that open up quickly.

Go for it. Just because he has never been with anyone does not mean anything. Making he is just looking for someone special. No drinking and smoking means that he won't be addicted to anything, no bad habits. If he can take care of you and make it happy, then why not? Go to a movie, left the arm thing up between the seats, and just "invite" him. give him subtle hints to go for it. ;)

He seems like an alright guy, so you should try and get to know him. The way you should make a move is ask him if he wants to go out or just talk to him a little bit, for a little ice breaker.

You should be his friend first to find out more about him. You don't want to rush into having some sort of relationship just yet. Get to know him better first then may be go out casually by asking him to movie or lunch. Just because he has bad childhood, it doesn't means he will have problem with relationship.

NO first of all he is your ex's friend no not a good idea, they both talk and if you date him, then your ex, and him will just talk about you..and compare notes...I say leave the Puppy, you don't have to resue him..he will learn about life ...he maybe lying about he never been with a girl, and you don't know him well enough to know if he has hurt a girl in the past...don't get involve
