How should I ask. I know this sounds sutpid, but this would be my first time ever talking to a girl about anything that has to do with dating.

In fact, a school dance is the perfect opportunity coz it isnt too formal -- not like a ''date-date'' and yet its serious enough to let her know you would like to get to know her better.
