when we applied for credit for a car, car max ran like 5. can i call those companies to remove it from my credit report.do they do that?thanks

usually inquiries will stay on your report for 2 years. I doubt that car max will take off the inquires and it may affect your credit score. If it is a mistake that it was ran more than once, then you can contact the credit reporting agency themselves...like equifax and tell them that was not your inquiry and it was made in error, and they will do the work to assist in disputing it for you.

yes they can take it off, if you contest the inquiry with them you have a 50/50 shot at it getting removed. but you do not need to worry as multiple inquiries from the same type of merchant with 2 weeks are only counted as one inquiry for credit score purposes as they know people like to shop around for the best rate.
