Depends on where you live. I am in the process of divorcing my husband but we havent lived together in 4 years. He is not requesting any child support but he will be getting "primary care" he is responsible for taking the kids to the dr and attending school functions etc. The reason I will not be paying support through the state is that my ex knows I will support my kids, when they need something he calls me and i give him half, sometimes more if i can. The point of child support is not to screw the father but to provide for the child.

check with state laws but child support is set by what the childs lifestyle would be like if the 2 of you were together. but if you make a lot more than her you may be stuck. if you contact your state legislature usually they can send you a booklet on the laws in your state.

No one here can answer this definitively. That depends on the laws of your state, how much you make, how much your ex makes, how old the kid is, what kind of agreement you have (or have had) and ultimately - what the judge says.
