Do I get the value of one of the puppies? This breed typically has a large litter of 11-7 puppies. I think she will sell the puppies for $250 each. Should I just ask for $100, I paid $250 for my male 6 months ago. What is typical for dog breeders? I won't do it for free, because we both raise puppies.

I believe there is $100 stud fee and sometimes you get pick of the litter! So, if your male is of 'good stature' within the breed standard or has any special accomplishments determines how valuable he's worth (Grand Champion in Agility for example).

Be careful doing business with neighbors, it could get ugly .. especially if you both compete for sales in the same breeder circles and she apparently likes your male! So keep an eye on him.. sometimes they have a way of disappearing (I'm assuming he's microchipped, as all dogs/cats and birds that are of sentimental or monetary value are prone to theft.. ) especially if the 'critter' is friendly.

Just my 2 copper, we'll see how far I'm off (I have never bred dogs, but I have been around breeders of one kind or another and that can kinda be called a norm in the industry I have been around).

It depends whether you wood like the best pup out of the litter or if you would prefer money from stud fees and or maybe the sale price for a pup that the person sells after the litter has arrived. Always make sure that you have a contract written if you do decide to wait for the sale of a pup and or receipt on you behalf.

Depending on what you want, either charge stud fee which would be approx. equal to the price of one pup, or take pick of the litter. My stud fees are actually a little less that the cost of one pup. Make sure that she gets a brucellosis test done on her ***** before mating. Only breed if this is negative.

i don't think you should breed anything unless you have a show quality dog, and so does your neighbor. breeding dogs for profit is foolishness, regardless of how much you paid for the animal. i paid $1700 for my mastiff puppy, and he's neutered. if you're not breeding for the enhancement and continuation of the breed, you should get out of it. did you know that 2 out of every 10 puppies born and sold will stay in the original home they were sold to? two whole puppies. out of ten. great statistics. leave the breeding up to the professionals, and get a real job. how would you like to be used for nothing more than your uterus?

The previous post is correct. The supplier of the stud gets the pick of the litter.

the only reason i think of for breeding canine it to enhance the chosen breed. in case you like a Pug domestic dog, why do not you undertake one in prefer quite of including to the priority? confident, canine would desire to be a undeniable age previously they'd desire to be bred. And confident, canine would desire to be examined for hereditary illnesses, and not be bred no count if it is got here across that they have got a extreme risk of passing them on - would you prefer to intentionally breed canine with a extreme risk of having a extreme ailment? there is not any evidence that breeding a canine once or twice previously spaying/neutering them is easily solid for them.
