here is some advice dont eat fast ,take your time and chew your food well, and eat many smaller meals rather than few large ones. This will keep your stomach from expanding and driving those digestive juices up. Drink plenty of water and avoid foods which cause heart burn, like alcohol, coffee, and for me it's donuts I can eat a donut and have heart burn in 2 seconds. Stop using the antacids and try using a acid reducer like zantec 75 or tagamet HB. Antacids will actually train your belly to produce more acid. If you are suffering and must have instant relief mix some baking soda in water and drink it. Persistant heartburn can also be an indicator of other problem such as heart disease, or an infection of your stomach see a doctor. I work with a gal who suffered from regular heartburn and it erroded a hole in her esophagus which had to be corrected by a debilitating surgery, she missed over 6 weeks of work.

They call it "acid reflux" these days, and make a big deal of it, because it can do nasty damage to your esophagus. So I went to a doctor and got a very expensive prescription, and took it for close to two years. Then the doctor said she would not renew the prescription without seeing me again, and I didn't have the time or the money to go see her, and I was getting "break through" episodes in spite of the medication, so I just let it run out.

The episodes stopped. It seems the medication was making it even worse for me in the hour or two before it was time to take another pill, and when I stopped it, my body adjusted and I was fine.

Of course, I had changed my diet by then. Gave up coffee, which was the big wrench. Gave up things that are very acidic, or that were too spicy.

Hello, Nexium is excellent, it actually repairs your esophagus so it does not erode which will happen over time with consistent heartburn, you will notice right away...lt does more than treat the symptom..
Also, a former heartburn sufferer, put 3-4" blocks at the head of your bed so your espoghagus is at a angle. DILUTE your juice or tea, limit chocolate and cofee...But the best thing is DILUTING ALL your juices..specailly orange...or acididc...flavored water is all you need and it lasts longer and less sugars.

BLOT your pizza, eat grilled instead of fried...You WILL notice results with these tips, they really helped me and now its a lifestyle at 33!

You can start off by taking some Tums. If that does not help you can try Prilosec over the counter and avoid lying down after meals.

you may need to check into something like Pepcid. Once I had heartburn so badly that I felt sick. My mother told me to try a tablespoon of Baking soda in a glass of Coke and drink it while it was fizzing. Loudest burp i ever had and I instantly felt better.

drinking a glass of milk, not eating late at night, and like u said they are frequent which means that u will likely get acid reflux which means just to be safe now, go to ur doc and have them prescibe u nexium. i have been on it for 2 years now and it has worked wonders for me. they have a website for this drug and they will send u a 7 day sample and u should try it and i promise u they will work.

I don't know any worse than Aluminum as it is toxic to human nerve cells and should be avoided from medications, food stuff, soft drink cans, and every thing. If you want correct medicine you have to get correct diagnosis, however, ranitidine, or famotidine may help temporally.
