Honestly it comes down to switching your diet. Get away from eating large portions in single sittings. Try to split the three standard "healthy" meals a day into smaller portions. This will help you keep your calorie intake a day smaller. Also, EXERCISE! If you don't like people watching, then start with walks. Overall you need to be doing a minimum of 20 minutes of cardio excerise a day. That means getting your heartrate up to about ... 150-160 beats per minute. For being so young, you'll start seeing results if you keep this up over a few weeks. KEEP AT IT.. and it helps if you start going to the gym.. Memberships are pretty cheap these days.

To lose weight, a person has to reduce the calorie intake by some amount by modifying their diet. A diet without sufficient nutrients will only increase the appetite of the person trying to lose weight. Since most people combine a diet with an exercise plan, additional nutrients are required for the growth of muscles required to increase the metabolic rate required for long term weight loss. Start by eating breakfast. Healthy. Not too much. Cereal, fruit juice and maybe a joghurt or a fruit.
This will get your metabolism started.
Then during the day, if you feel like snacking, have something like a bran bisciut whith a slice of cheese. Choose a light coloured cheese. It containes less fat.
For lunch go for something bigger, like maybe a rye tuna sandwich. Or chicken. Skip the mayonnaisse!!
Don't eat a lot during dinner, this will make you stomache heavy, and your metabolism is less active during the night.
Try it.
Good luch.
Oh, don't take anything that will make your metabolism faster!! The soon as you stop taking it, your metabolism will slow down, resulting weight gain.

1st you need to look at your eating habits...if you find yourself indulging in fast foods/junk foods then that might be it...throw away all the junk and possibly nvr set foot in any fast food restaurant ever again... start to make your meals... for meal ideas there are many sites on the web for them...some ideas is to steam instead of fry for instance...or just a healthier substitute.. bake potatoes instead of french fries... now after you find the right foods all you need to do is eat 200 less calories from you typical day(depends how much you eat actually).... doing that you will lose a pound a week...exercise helps a lot also...if you have the cash go to the gym if not running/jog/walking around the block helps...well if you try 2 do this it will be hard and of course you will be tempted to eat junk or whatever but if you want to lose weight and really want to then u have to stick to the program...220 for 5'3 is really heavy you really need to think this over...i believe the healthy weight for your height is 150 but not really sure...in a few yrs this might affect your life..heart attack/high blood pressure comes to mind you don't have to listen to me because I'm not an expert but just think about your future...but its good that you took the initiative to ask in such a young age..cuz a lot of ppl dont change there habits until they have there 1st heart attack or w/e problems..hope this helps and good luck

First of all, make sure you visit your doctor before starting any type of weight loss program. This is to make sure that no other problems have been created by the extra weight you're carrying (i.e., high blood pressure, diabetes, etc.). You're still young, so you shouldn't have much of a problem, barring any medical condition(s) that would impede your process. Simple version: make sure you're drinking about 110 ounces of water per day (always half your body weight, in ounces), eating plenty of "live" foods (FRESH fruits & veggies, rather than frozen or canned...they have more nutritional value) and lean, healthy protein (beans, baked or broiled chicken or fish, etc.), and getting in 30-45 minutes of cardiovascular activity (brisk walking, swimming, elliptical machine, biking, etc.), 4-6 times per week. Contrary to some of the fad diets that demonize carbohydrates, your body NEEDS carbs to function properly, but be moderate and do research on the RIGHT kinds of carbs to eat. Limit consumption of fatty meats, fried food, saturated fats (typical in "junk food"), and sugar. But focus on what you need to DO rather than what you can't have, otherwise it becomes nearly impossible because by focusing on what you DON'T want, you actually wind up gravitating toward it. Above all, make sure you really believe your deserve to be healthy and lean...otherwise you'll end up sabotaging your efforts. Best of luck to you!
